Imperial Reds (Not Nugget Nectar!)

I like Levitation a lot, but I never really thought of it as a red ale, let alone an "Imperial." Isn't it marketed as a session beer due to its sub-5.0% ABV?

 

I agree.. I think I mentioned Revelry in my original post.. it's really good.. I recall it being a little hot, but still well executed..

 

Real Ale from Texas put out an Imperial Red about 6 months ago. Haven't heard if they have plans to do more of it, but it was very tasty.

 

Not available to the OP, but I love to pick up at least one Galactic Imperial Red from Hopworks every time it comes around. Big on the hops but it definitely has the red malt backbone to balance out. Hides its alcohol very well and cool bottle too.

 

Like the previous post, this one won't be available to anyone outside the PacNW --- but, for my money, Laurelwood Deranger Imperial Red is unbeatable.

 

Lakefront Fixed Gear is pretty outstanding.

Revelry, one of the hoppiest red ales I've had. Better than Blood of the Unicorn, IYAM. Has a rye like character as well for those who enjoy that.

 

Imp Loakal Red is quite good.

 

I'll throw in another vote for Marble's. Not quite imperial, but delicious.

 

Trade for some O'so - Dank imperial red if you can.

Upland's Ard Ri was very good in my opinion, Lots of malt and hid the 9.5% very well

I love this stuff and normally am not a big fan of IPAs

 

This is the one...super tasty and cheap...this and Hop Stoopid are the best value in beer...
