Barrel-Aged Tetrapod from Equilibrium and Tripping Animals Brewing.

The taste is fantastic. Vanilla for days, a touch of cinnamon, marshmallow milk chocolate, slight coconut, a hint of licorice, and very subtle coffee. A hint of bourbon comes through, but this isn't a bourbon bomb.

The mouthfeel is insane. THICK and creamy. The aftertaste is thick chocolate.

Happy New Year. Guests have left and I’m drinking a 20% stout. Still working this bottle of Black Tuesday. A good start to 2024. Cheers.

2 year aged imperial stout with macadamia, coffee and toasted coconut (aka Cocodamia). Contains floaties. 12%ABV

Very still looking in the glass, virtually no head development. Oily sheen and semi viscous pour with a dark ruddy brown body. Some syrupy leg like stick and I could count maybe four small coconut looking floaties total.

Entry is sweet and fudgy. Brownie batter, coconut macaroons, coffee dipped biscotti all come to mind. A dark and richly roast, sweet tasting dessert stout with a well balanced backend chocolatey bitterness. Some alcohol spice notes in the finish but fairly easy to sip on overall. Reminds me of some Bottle Logic brews I have had maybe even a tad better. Quite the treat to ring in the New Year BA!

Finishing and starting the year with some Narwhal. It's been a hell of a year, personally, and I sure have appreciated this batch of Narwhal as I've kicked my wounds and looked to the future. I'm probably a case and a half deep on the release and I just need to remember to grab a 6 pack to stick in the cellar for 3 years from now.

Oh yeah, happy New Year you beautiful monsters

This thread title has to be a trademark violation right?? Try some peanut butter whiskey in a Willettized sometime, I think you'll like it.

Don't get me wrong, BBA/RBA imperial stouts are my go-to beers, but technically, aren't bourbon/rum add-junks?

La Debauche Brewing ‘Sacred Heart IX’ Eisbock Chocolate Milk Stout.,

    4.56/5 rDev -3.6%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

33 cl bottle, poured room temp into a pair of taster’s snifters, in Toulouse, France, on New Year’s Eve 2023.
Black mass. Darkness prevails! Perfectly headless.. you get no lace.,.
Big boomer on the nose.,rich with dark stone fruits, dates, coffee., mmm.. dry chocolate., vodka style burn.,
Fortified with layers of richness., prunes, dash of soy sauce, the 2023 version is ‘only’ 21% ABV (compared to earlier versions @ 23%.,.). and is full on aggressive throughout.,.
Mouth expands and moves well. Not over hefty.,. Low gurgles of carbonation.,
Overall, the obvious comparison would be DFH World Wide Stout. It comes up short, IMO, by the alcohol burn., yeah yeah., sit on it for a year. Bet it’ll be a killer.,.
