    Greetings, Advocates

I was talking to a friend who lives in El Paso today, raving to him about Imperial Stouts in general and North Coast Old Rasputin in particular. My friend enjoys dark beers, but has yet to experience the joys of Imperial Stout. I suspect that Old Rasputin is not distributed in the El Paso area. So I am seeking suggestions for excellent examples of Imperial Stouts that are either brewed or distributed in the El Paso area. This is an opportunity to make my friend a life long Imperial Stout fan. Let’s take advantage of it, lol.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm not familiar with what is in El Paso, but there is a Specs that your friend should check out. North Coast is pretty easy to come by for the major metros, but not sure about there.

There are a handful of breweries in town, I don't know how up to date this is but check out the listings from the places page.

Bigger Texas breweries that should be easy to find are Real Ale Commissar which is excellent.
I wouldn't be surprised if Saint Arnold Commitment is hanging around there as well, which is very good as well.
Southern Star Buried Hatched would be another good one with wide distribution.

The Hoppy Monk is a good beer bar in San Antonio, which also has a location in El Paso

The website shows Prairie Bomb on tap, so I assume that can be found in bottles around as well.

I would also bet you could find Sam Smith Imperial Stout, which shouldn't be overlooked.

    Hope that helps.

Eeeexcellent, @champ103, muchas gracias for the suggestions. Yes, my friend knows The Hoppy Monk, and I have had the pleasure of visiting once or twice too. I have mentioned Specs to him, so I'm sure he will look there. It's great to have some specific suggestions for him to check out.
