Impossibly good beer luck

Yet another Cantiloooon story. We just started getting it back here again and I managed to snag 2 bottles of LP Kriek. The only reason I was at the store in the first place was because we needed milk and the only reason I went across town to that store was because I had to pick up a package my gf had held at FedEx. Complete dumb luck.

 

I agree with you about paying too much for access to all the information out there. Wi-fi is becoming so prevalent (and companies so data stingy) that my friends 4G phone keeps kicking him to wi-fi when its available. So I've been thinking of buying a cheap wi-fi capable phone (just the phone, not the service) and using it when I'm out to have internet access.

 

Minus the working out, similar experience with BCBCS and a bottle of KH at the same store. Insanely lucky in Chicago, IMO.

I hit a gas station here in Colorado and they usually just have junk beer. But i scored a Bud Chelada! Winning

 

For me, it was this morning at Blue Max. Won the BCS Rare raffle. Beer karma is becoming real to me.

And to all the old farts grimacing in my direction as I was claiming my prize: I might be young, but I'm gonna enjoy the FUCK out of this beer!

I don't know if this is as lucky as others, but I was in San Francisco a week ago for several days and wandered in to City Beer on my last day. I was hoping to find some stuff I can't get in WA, but ended up spending a few hundred at the bar with some bottles that you could only drink on premises. Had a 750ml Beatification batch 3 and The Wanderer (last bottle). I also got to try some 2010 Berserker...on tap! Awesome last day in SF.

 

couple years ago I went to founders with some friends, not only did they have kbs on tap which I had never tried and didn't know what it was, but I was also able to score a 4 pack!

 

back before three floyds was in ohio i went into a shop i had never been in before, went into the cooler and their was a case of dreadnaught and a case of moloko. this was my first three floyds experience and it was amazing!

 

Friday after work, I needed to kill a few minutes so I went to a local shop and found Bourbon County Coffee sitting on the shelf. I thought that was a lucky moment.

 

I've been considering this more and more. But I'm just being stubborn at this point since I've resisted so long.

 

The last two times I have walked into Whole Foods Bowery in NYC, I have found BA Yeti and Sucaba sitting on shelves. Pretty good luck I'd say

The exact same thing just happened to me. Last bottle in a shop I rarely stop at but was looking for something else for a trade.

 

They still have bottles of The Wanderer for any one interested.

 

Last summer, the bartender at Cascade Barrel House found out that I was a student at IU, pulled out his 1986 IU student ID, then proceeded to tell me that my money was no good as he bought my flight of sours. Saturday at a bar in SF, the barkeep told me he was from Athens, OH, where I had also earned a degree, and he bought my beers for me. Needless to say, these fellas saw substantial tips.

 

I just got home from a smaller local grocery store that a friend told me about. He recently picked up 4 bottles of batch 1 Mephistopheles from them and I thought I would try out my luck. I had never been in there until today, and what a good day to start, it took some digging around but I ended up with 3 bottles of Nightstalker, 2 from 2011 and 1 from 2010.

 

Ive had a few, but the one today was just random. I went to the local grocery store known to have a good craft selection. Walked up to the display that was right outside the cave and they had cases of Fullers Vintage. For $1.99 each. There were three years; 2007, 2008 and 2009. I got a case of 2007 and a couple bottles of the others. Nice.
