So I've been here on Dennis beach for about a week visiting from FL and have scoured the shelves at maybe half a dozen liquor stores that have been quite decent so far. I've picked up some Boulevard brews, Firestone Walker, Allagash, Founders, Maine Beer Co., Jack's Abbey, etc.. but I've yet to find any of the legendary Lunch! I'm assuming it's sort of like the Pliny of the Northeast- plenty of it, but not enough to keep it on shelves for the average tourist to stumble upon.

Basically, I'm looking for either a liquor store that will likely have some, or maybe a generous BA would like to trade me some locally. I brought some Cigar City brews, but am now only down to 2 Cubano Espresso, sadly. But I can always send a care package from home once I arrive back in FL.

Other Northeast beers I'm dying to try:

    -Lawson's Double Sunshine
    -Anything Hill Farmstead
    -Gandhi Bot
    -Any of the Cascade sours

Any help will be appreciated! Cheers all!

    -Clint

How are you getting home? Basically, unless you go to Vermont, forget about Lawson's or HF. Cascade should be available in the better bottle shops, at least in and around Boston. Ghandi Bot and anything NEBCO isn't in Massachusetts, unless you find some real old stuff.
Lunch is hard to find. I did manage to get one bottle at my place, but they only got a single case.
I would recommend looking for Mystic's brews, Pretty Things, and keep your eyes open for Cisco's sours. Maybe not quite up there with Cascade, but they're more than passable.

I have seen Lunch at four stores on Cape. Kappys in Falmouth, Liberty liquors in Mashpee, Ring Brothers in Dennis, and Town Center in Eastham. Those stores will get Lunch three times a year at best, and it goes pretty quick off the shelf. I got some Lunch at Town Center back in early June, and that was the last time I saw it here.

Long Ridge in Plymouth is the closest store I know of that has any Cascades, and they just have the Kriek, but that was three months ago. Cedarville Wine and Spirits might have some, but i Have not been there in awhile. Wines and More in Wareham also has the Kriek, but it is absurdly overpriced. JrGtr recommended Cisco sours which are excellent. However, they have not been on Cape for almost a year now. Have to go to the Boston area now to find their sours, unless you take a day trip to Nantucket and go to the brewery. If you are looking for sours, Cranberry Liquors in Harwich still has some Love Child #3.

I've found Lunch at Windmill Liquor in Orleans. Happy hunting.

I think a new batch of Lunch is hitting stores now (my local said they received a bit yesterday) - if you make it up to NH you can have the bottle they offered me.

Thanks for all the help guys! I'm gonna try a few more stores just for the hell of it and see what turns up!

Vacation on the Cape when you live in FL? Water must feel ice cold to you! :grimacing: Good luck on you hunt for Lunch. Had a bottle of Lawson's Double Sunshine myself last week. A friend of a friend was coming home from VT and was able to get us 2 bottles of Double Sunshine and a half of case of Heady Topper from the Alchemist. Double Sunshine is just that, liquid sunshine!
