So I'm now residing in Estonia. A small city known to few as Tartu. Regardless I am very very very fond of porters and stouts. Unfortunately, in Estonia all I can find is two local porters, which are decent and Guiness....

I'm really looking for Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout. So far I traveled to Lithuanian, where brown ales are classified as dark beer and Latvia in search of this. I found nothing. Willing to go back, or to Finland, Belarus even Russia. I'd consider traveling to Ukraine or Poland. I'm even willing to order it if the shipping is cheap enough.

I'll spare you the details on what is considered beer here, it isn't pretty and at most infuriating.

Does anyone know where I can obtain this product? I'm desperate. I'm willing to buy two whole cases of it.

If you're prepared to travel, have you considered coming to the UK

You can find Sam Smiths easily enough over here!

Tyskie Porter is really underrated in my opinion- if you can go as far as Poland, you can do a lot worse than this.

A friend of mine has just picked up a bunch of Estonian beer to rate on, ahem, another site.

I'll ask him what's dark and not lagery.

The last time I mentioned The Other Place, I got into a whole heap of bother. But, yes, Ratebeer.

Ah ok. I just wanted to know if it was a site I hadn't heard of or the inferior other one.

If you're considering traveling to Poland, I hear the Zywiec Porter is tip-top.

I have never been to Estonia, but I have "The Encyclopedia of World Beers" (Benjamin Myers & Graham Lees; 1997 so maybe a little out of date). They recommend this one: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/560/1471

    Good luck!

Check into Baltika 6 (Russia) and Zywiec Porter (Poland).
