Aloha, I grew up in Hawaii and I am coming back for a visit next week (doing the touristy thing in Waikiki, which I have never done). Any places that are a must during the visit? Mahalo!
Makapu'u or Sandy's (beaches on Oahu's east coast) if you like body surfing are always good places to go. Hank's Haute Dogs on Coral St is pretty good if you are looking for a hot dog. As for beer spots: - Real A Gastropub by Ward Center has a great selection - usually around 20 beers on tap and tons of bottles. - Pint + Jigger on King Street also has a big selection of craft beers and some interesting food. If you are in town for the weekend, Oahu Brewfest is Saturday, October 27th in the evening over in Ko Olina - I think this is the first time they've done it though so not sure what it will bring. I think you need to buy tickets ahead of time.
