Hit up Neptunes. Damn good sandwich. I really want one now.

If you can find Saint Arnold Pumpkinator on tap, grab a pint!

I'll just bump my own thread instead of creating a new one. I will be back in Houston to Watch the Lakers-rockets game. Any good beer places near the Arena? Any new releases out?

Specs Midtown and D&Q are both close, but not exactly walking distance.

Flying Saucer is downtown, maybe 10 blocks away depending on your definition of "near"

MKT Bar is also a good spot. Not a great selection but what they have is good, and it's close. I usually go to the Saucer before Rockets games though. #RedNation

Keep in mind you can find Karbach randomly in ATX. Craft Pride had Rodeo Clown & Sympathy for the Lager on shelves this weekend & Growler Room has had Weiss Versa & Barn Burner.

Definitely pick up lots of Weekend Warrior though. :-D

We do half of our pregames at the Saucer, half at MKT Bar. Saucer obviously kills as far as selection, but the walk is pretty long (albeit quite doable).

MKT Bar's selection is limited, but there are always at least 2-3 very good taps (and another handful of decent ones). Plus, the food bar inside the grocery store is awesome -- well worth checking it out before committing to the MKT Bar menu. The very short walk to TC is clutch.

I'd vote Saucer. I'd park by the arena, walk there, and schedule a cab appt to get a ride back to the game.

You can probably find some street parking somewhere in between the arena and Flying Saucer.. making it easier to walk to both...
