My friend and I are visiting Drinktec for 2 days. Monday September 16th and Tuesday. We will arrive on Sunday September 15th, and then leave on Wednesday. Would anyone be willing to meet up and have a beer? Possibly show us a good, cheap, place to eat? Know of any cheap accommodations for 3 nights besides what can be found on hotels.com and other like minded sites? My friend is Dutch but speaks English as well. I recently moved to Netherlands, but only speak English. So if anyone is willing, we would love to enjoy a drink or some sites. We could also bring a bottle or 2 from the area if interested Thanks Trevor
I have booked on Wimdu.com to rent an apartment in Munich once and was happy. If neither of you speak German, be sure to check the notes of the people renting the apartment, it usually will list which languages they speak. My tip for cheap eats is not a place, specifically, but I love Fleischkäse as good, quick street food. In Munich it might be called Leberkäse, or something similar. You can usually find it at any butcher shop, and I'd guess the grocery level (usually the basement) of the Galeria Kaufhof will also have it. Ask for it "mit Brot" (and "Senf", my preference). It's a nice, cheap little snack to keep you going. You might need something more substantial depending on your planned level of alcohol intake, so in that case don't forget to also hit up a bakery for a pretzel. Have fun, and report back!
Depends what you mean by cheap. Weisses Brauhaus has plenty of meals under 10 euros: http://www.weisses-brauhaus.de/essen_trinken.de.php?node=2&lang=de
Augustinerbraustuben (vs Grossgastetten and Keller) has some great, cheap food. And www.airbnb.com may have cheap, private rooms available... Prosit!
