Currently in NYC with the wife and kids. Need a recommendation for a restaurant that is kid friendly with good craft beer. Did look through the places section, but really couldn't tell which ones would work for kids. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try Ginger Man. I would bring my kids to Rattle n Hum too but they are degenerates already anyway...

Where in NYC are you, and how far are you willing to travel? This is a big city!

Friday, especially with all the tourists, daytrippers and the usual Friday late afternoon (Happy hour) crowd, it'll be tough to find any place that isn't jammed. Places the Beer Authority, the Ginger Man and Rattle n Hum will be packed, I wouldn't bother trying with kids.

This may be your best bet, and it's on the West side, down in the Hell's Kitchen area. I've never eaten there, but they had 2013 KBS on tap back in January and they usually have decent stuff.

This is their tap list from 7 days ago. Founders Red's Rye barrel aged, too.

Ginger Man has HF Edward on tap right now. That should help.

Jacob's Pickles on the UWS has a solid selection and kid-friendly food, beers are a bit on the pricier side though. Grab some bottles to-go at Broadway Dive on 102nd, amazing selection.

Ended up at Brickyard Gastro Pub. Was really nice. Tap list was solid and the kids and wife liked their food

Awesome. Like I said, I never ate there but it seemed like the food would probably be good. Did you have the BA Red's Rye?

Can anyone confirm if Ginger Man still has HF Edward on tap? I don't see it listed on their site but I don't know how often they update. Heading into NYC for Record Day and would love to get my hands on a pint or two of Edward.

Here is a little tip, look up the venue on untappd and see what people are drinking in real time. Not everyone at bar of courses uses it, but gives you an indication if you see someone has checked it in. Also, for rarer beers or events, sometimes people will post the keg has kicked.

No, the Red Rye was not on tap. Had a can of Sculpin and a draft of Blue Mountain Dark Hallow Imperial Stout.

Or you can check Beermenus.com. All the good beer bars update their menus daily:
