Unless there's a specific discussion about whether or not to include extras I always bring a little something. Even if we live close by (likely) there's usually something in the cellar or fridge I traded for or picked up while traveling that would make a nice extra that doesn't get distributed to our mutual area. Also as others have said I sometimes put some additional stuff in my car or bag so that if the other trader turns out to be particularly generous I don't get caught out there..looking like a cheapskate!

My first couple IP trades I didn't bring any extras and the other person did (poor communication between the two of us) and I felt like an ass. Nowadays, I typically make it clear whether there are extras or not. Typically, I don't do extras on IP trades, for the distro crossover reasons listed above.

Usually when I do an IP trade I will bring a few extras and also a few brews that are on their Wants list to crack open with them if possible. Ball hard!

It never hurts to bring something extra on the side. I feel that its important to be generous in this hobby of ours and hopefully, that generosity will spread to others like ripples on a pond.

If the other trader is from out of area/state, then it's a good idea IMO so he can get a shot at some of your locals but it isn't absolutely necessary. Helping out another BA is never a bad idea.

I bring extras unless we agree not to do extras. With my last couple IP trades I have asked for it to be no extras. Communication is always important.
