In Pinehurst this week for U.S. Open... but...

You should jump in the car and head over to Triangle Wine Co. in Southern Pines. Its just a short drive away and they will have a much larger selection than anywhere else around that area. Do yourself a favor!!!

As their site indicates, they will be having tap takeovers Thursday (Goose Island, including bcbs), Friday (Lagunitas), and Saturday (NC brews, including Sexual Chocolate). I go to the one in Morrisville regularly, and they have a quality collection, but I can't say I've ever been to Southern Pines.

 

I was in Pinehurst a few weeks ago and they had Lagunitas Waldo Special on draft at Triangle. That place is LEGIT. Apparently, the CEO for Lagunitas has a house in pinehurst and frequents there, so I'd attend the Lagunitas one if I were you.

 

Agreed. Huge selection at the TWC! Enjoy!

 

I avoid the railhouse as much as possible. Their beer is "ok" at best. Their bartenders will pass you over time and time again to serve the people they know. If you want to sit down at a bar, go to mellowmushroom (they have a great draft selection). If you love hot wings with a lot of flavor, go to Legends in Southern Pines!!

 

I have to disagree , the owner Brian spent a lot of time with us and it was our first time there, great guy and the bartender was excellent also. I think the ka bar brown is a good beer, there oatmeal stout won the Fay beer fest, excellent and there iPa is good also. So I say visit there for sure, I know we will visit again soon

If you pop on over to Fayetteville, you have Mash House Brewery that does some damn tasty beer, honestly. Doesnt get a ton of love since its in Fayettenam. They hit with their fruit infused kegs 1 out of every 4 tries.

I forgot about mash house!! Wonderful brewery, just kind of far from the So P./pinehurst area! I am pleased with their beer every time I go. But yes, their fruit infused beer is hit and miss, but I enjoy trying them!

 

Their big hits in my experience have been Raspberry Porter, Peach Hefe, and Apricot IPA in that order. Underrated brewery if you ask me!

 

Triangle Wine Co and the Sly Fox are the only legit places to grab quality liquid on tap. Went in to the Southern Pines store last night and had BCS, Fresh Lagunitas Sucks, and a Lagunitas cask infused with citra, all on tap. Then I went home and slept like a baby. BCS will probably kick today, but fresh sucks will appease me for the rest of the weekend.
