Gotta love the 4th......Nothing say 'merica like a day off in the middle of the week.

Just got back from a wedding in VT and picked up some HT and Hill farmstead's latest bottle release. Got some people coming over to watch the fireworks on my roofdeck in Southie. I hope they don't go through all my 'good' beer. Perhaps some decoy's in the front of my fridge will throw them off.

I'm keeping it all local. One of the brother's and SIL are having everyone over for a barbeque. I'm in charge of fruit salad and beer (story of my life.) So far I have this (minus the OTA, which we already drank Saturday night.) I'm thinking of adding some Revolution and maybe another Pipeworks or something from Spiteful.

The trick is a second fridge. I have a beer fridge that everybody else knows about so I use our primary fridge (food and lesser driniks) as storage for the good stuff during parties, get togethers, and family reunions (shudder). Hide it all behind the broccoli and brussel sprouts and you will be good to go!

Got a growler of TG Golden Nugget that we'll be bringing to a BBQ that will already have a pony keg of PBR. Then we'll be breaking out Moon Man to watch the fireworks.

I'll probably be drinking margaritas by the pool, or keystone! I don't waste good beer when I'm just trying to get a good buzz going lol.

I'm making hot and smokey baked beans, which calls for about a 1/2 cup of "dark beer." So I'll probably use a Dark Horse Sotty Karate for that (& drink the rest). Will be pairing it with homemade kielbasa.

To drink...DC Brau's The Corruption. Is that unpatriotic on the 4th? Ah well, I need to drink what's in my fridge because I'm going on vacation soon. Actually, I might also be drinking another refrigerator resident...Weihenstephaner Original.

So I guess I'm having the proverbial "melting pot" of a 4th of July.

So far, I just have a bottle of Enjoy By 07.04.13. I am sure I will be adding a lot more to it. I will be hanging with people who usually drink wine though... so we will see

I can smell the BBQ already!! Going to be doing a 12lb brisket on the big green egg and we'll have a keg of founders All day IPA along with a low-abv IPA I brewed. So about 14 gallons of beer and plenty of BBQ is to be had!

I've been sitting on a DFH 120 since February, so I'll finally be trying that, a Devil Dancer, then various FFF, Lagunitas, and Schlafly products.

Luckily when people are at my house, they usually ask "Which beers should I not drink?" They know certain ones are off limits.

    Avery Momi Hiwa
    Avery Mephistopheles

I am bringing a 6-pack of Two Hearted to a family cookout, and am pretty sure my Dad will have a bunch of Dale's Pale Ale as well. I took off Friday, so really looking forward to a nice long, 4-day weekend.

I will never understand why people want to waste good beer on a drunken orgy.

It's supposed to be 108 degrees here on the 4th of July, so I can't even imagine downing some high ABV brews or imperial stouts while trying to BBQ out there!
