Stopped in at the Koelship yesterday for the first time in quite awhile. They increased their beer prices significantly. Their 4% table beer use to be $5 or $5.50 and is now $8 for the same size pour. Like the place, but doubt I'll be back anytime soon with those ridiculous prices.

I'm pretty sure they didn't raise the price for Table. @Jkoeneman

On 4/21 it was. It looked like all beers were $8 and pour size varied, which I thought was strange. I also had a barehands mosaic that was roughly 8-10oz and was $8 as well.

Hm. Unless they increased it by 33% in a week, it was $6 as of the last time they posted a taplist on social media.

I couldn't care less either way, but I did remember seeing this the other day.

Hmm. Perhaps whoever did the board got things crossed? I know they just did a 'tap takeover' kind of thing with Penrose last week. So, my guess is that the chalk board person heard something like, "Put $8 on them all," thinking they meant all the beers instead of just the Penrose beers.

To add on to this conversation...the Koelschip website reflects the pricing from the pic above, $8/pour for Table, Garden, etc.

7 pages in and nobody has mentioned Ft Wayne/ NE Indiana, so I'll give it a go:

    Ft Wayne
Mad Anthony- Beers have improved greatly in recent years. Some very solid IPA's and decent food. Available in cans.
Summit City Brewing- Okay beers with a ton of guest taps. Decent food.
Junk Ditch Brewing- Cool place, average beers, fantastic food. Tap/growler only.
Trubble Brewing-cool location, okay beer and food.Tap/growler only.
Birdboy Brewing- No taproom, but very solid brews available in cans and on tap many places in Ft Wayne.
Chapmans Brewing- Ft Wayne location is in Fortezza Coffee downtown. Very solid beers that are also easily found in cans.

    Laotto
Laotto Brewing- Laotto is a tiny town north of Ft Wayne. Beers are hit or miss, the hits are very solid. Limited menu of good food. Cool location in an old bank.

    Columbia City
Another Chapmans location. Good beers, no food (yet).

    Auburn
    Another Mad Anthony location.

    Angola
Another Mad Anthony and Chapmans location. Nice location for Mad Anthony, no food at Chapmans.

    Albion
Albion Brewing- Have not been as they allow smoking. They do have food.

    I probably forgot something....

I thought Mad Anthony was not longer called Mad Anthony? I thought they got bought out and they changed the name (and some of the recipe's?). My Dad used to be a huge fan of their IPA (cannot recall name).

Nope, still the same owners, still Mad Anthony. They have just stepped up their game now that they have some competition.

Hm, well I stand corrected. That said, I certainly won't be stopping in nearly as much, not at eight bucks a pour when I can buy an entire 4pk of Table for $10, or Garden for $11.

Well, that's quite peculiar, especially since they have every beer listed as $8 no matter the style. Perhaps @Jkoeneman can chime in?

Has anyone on here been to Wasser in Greencastle? It is my local brewery. I am happy that my small town has a brewery, but to honest it's not good. I was wondering if anyone else could weigh in the n this topic.

The Koelschip just posted this on their instagram. Still have no idea how/why they had $8 on all of their beers, though.

Yep, just noticed that as well. Very strange, but glad prices are back to normal.

Is Taxman Evasion (formerly, Death and Taxes) available at the brewery in To Go bottles? Or was it only available on D&T day, much like Dark Lord is on DLD?

Wanting to get a bottle for a buddy, and I couldn't make it to the event a week or two back.

They made a lot less than last year - you could call and ask if they have any left, but I was under the impression that it was pretty much gone by this point.

Thanks. Their hours suck, so it has been difficult to find a time where I could call and if they had it actually make the 1.5-2 hour drive to get it.
