If you get a chance to get any 450 Citra Rainbows do it. 450 finally produced a hop bomb worthy of their self promotion.

I wrote on their Instagram posting if it would make it to NWI and they said it would get similar and limited distro like Fruity Nuggets. I'll be looking for it this week. I thought that Fruity Nugs was very well done.

450N is really stepping up their game. I hope they keep this trend up and keep on the NE IPA style.

Ok I'm in Indy for the weekend, planning on going to 450 shortly, are they good? They have a NE IPA released in cans today I want to check out. I'm from Kalamazoo, so I'm spoiled with Transient. Also is Deviate worth going to?

I'm in Greenwood Indianapolis area.......what's the Best bottle shop to check out?

    Thanks

Might just be the demand? I know my store here in on the South side still has some 420 6pk bottles and 12pk cans left right now (if you're needing some).

450 North has a track record for coming out with some awesome sounding IPAs/NE IPAs, but when you taste them, you're left very disappointed. Haven't had their last couple releases (Fruity Nuggets or Citra Rainbows) though. But, they might be getting better at them. Not too sure.

Top 6 breweries in Indy (IMO) would be, in no order: Deviate, Daredevil, Black Circle, Central State, Taxman, Black Acre

So, I'd say to go to Deviate, then stop at Daredevil on your way back on 465, and then Taxman since it's here on the South side.

Shop wise, my store (Crown Liquors on Southport Rd) has some decent things.

^^^^ I made the trip to 450 North, it was out in the middle of nowhere. It is a really cool place, the people were super friendly and the food was decent. I went there Friday evening and the place was packed. I planned on buying a couple 4 packs of the Citra Rainbow and the Dank rainbow to bring for my trading partners. I tried and wanted to like them, but they were really dissapointing, I was able to get some of the Fruity Nugget and a place in Indy and it was ok. Hopefully they keep working on it.

Too many releases in NWI this weekend.

Burn'em is doing their anniversary party with no releases yet named on Saturday.
Devil's Trumpet is doing its Heaven's Court release on Saturday. I haven't had it, but heard it's solid.
Four Fathers is releasing BA Samoa Delight on Saturday.

Found some citra rainbows today in NWI. First time having something from these guys. While good, it's nothing special IMO. I'll take a fresh zombie dust over this. Plus I'm probably just spoiled with easy access to transient beers.

I haven't been too fond of 18th st for a while but their lucifer in haze dipa they released last week is the best hoppy beer I've had from them. Not really NE style as they say IMO but great stuff.

I think for the first time since the move to Hammond, 18th Street is beginning to get its feet under itself.

Off Square Brewing in Crown Point opened on Thursday. The beer was quite good for a first run. Opening day was such a success that they were out of food at lunch on Friday, day 2.
Tropik Thunder- A NE IPA in name only - was quite good.
Rice Rocket DIPA was the highlight for me.

I tried some fresh Two If By Citra from Windmill this weekend...extremely disappointed. It tasted more like a mildy hoppy lager than a New England IPA. Almost no fruit notes, generic macro lager finish & a thin, poor mouthfeel.

I liked their mango milkshake IPA & hated their pineapple session IPA...their vanilla milk stout was "meh". I'm rooting for these guys but so far, no so good.

18th Street released the 8th and final Hunter variant on Saturday. Most people didn't know. I think they kept it deliberately quite because of bottle count.
