Sixpoint has been distributing to Indiana for at least 5-6 years. I'm pretty sure Cavalier (Sixpoint's distributor here in the state) sends stuff all around, so it might just be the stores up there don't know it's available/don't want it in stock.

Maybe three floyds and 18th street are maybe 20 minutes either direction so they might get get alot more demand then something further away. Still wish I could find it more often or maybe it's' just the shape of the can i keep seeing that makes me desire it more.

That could certainly be the case. Sixpoint makes a lot of really solid beers. Can't really recall ever having a bad beer from them. I'm guessing you could just ask your local store to get some in like you mentioned a page back.

We get Sixpoint down in Columbus. Have for several years. Resin is legit. Hi Res too if you like bitter bombs. I've been meaning to try their pilsner.

Tried Taxman Tax Holiday this year for the first time. Previous batches have been well rated among my friends.

It's hard to describe the off flavors I'm getting other than to describe them as soapy. I couldn't finish either can I've tried. Is anybody else getting this, and can comment on whether this is something off with this year's batch?

Thought I'd try to bring this thread back from the dead with a legit question. Who is making the best sours in the greater Indianapolis area outside of Upland? Looking for a place to take the wife and she pretty much exclusively likes fruited sours.

People's in Lafayette just released two fruited lambics that are tasty if you're in the area.

the koelship is probably going to be your best stop in indy. central state generally has some pretty good sours on tap and they also bring in some great guest taps. i've also found great offerings from belgium and the like in their cooler in the back. taxman has a good sour series with their fruited cache flows. cheers

Thanks for the feedback. Central States seems to be focused pretty heavily on farmhouse styles though, right? They have a beer list which includes guest bottles on Untappd. Any comments as to how accurate it is?

CSB has mixture of sours, IPAs, and some funky stuff. Here are the guest bottles The Koelschip has right now:

Last post was March 23rd, yikes.

Anyway, saw this today and was pretty happy to hear it

Hoplore (currently in Leesburg, middle of nowhere) is expanding to Warsaw. Hopefully more traffic will get these cool guys more business. If you've never heard of them and want to take a drive for some good stouts, they just had 2 barrel aged releases last weekend and surely have more left.

This is exciting as I recently started driving through that part of the state. Any specific information on when they'll open?

I'll finally have another place to stop besides Mad Anthony.

March just happens to be the last time 18th Street updated its Gary website.

No word yet, I'd imagine they'll move brewing there too since their current setup is teeny tiny. They're starting to can more often now so maybe they have big plans.

Ortho City had some good beers in Warsaw before they closed down but yeah, that city is too big for there not to be something decent, so I hope it works out for them.

    Where are you driving from/to?
