For the BAs in NWI, I am interested how many of you saw this poll retweeted by Four Fathers. Best brewery in NWI that is not fff.

    https://www.local219.tv/

I am interestes in the results.

I think you know my response to this particular poll, but no way in hell am I going to vote. This poll is nothing more than an info grab, looking to gather your personal info (email address, what-have-you), and then re-sell the data, and/or barrage you with crap solicitations for whatever. No thank you.

And, more than that, the results will be meaningless. What do you expect to learn from the results that you don't already know?

On the other hand, it is somewhat predictable to see another act of pontification by @YoungLad in this thread to we the ungrateful “lemmings”. It is already full of them.

    That is hurtful.

It is only condescension if you think it is.

I think your last 2 statements are somewhat contradictory. Commenting that Indy beer is generic and then saying some Deviate is too bizarre.
The Indy beer scene is still evolving. It wasn't that long ago that the vast majority of people were drinking BMC, and, love them or hate them, Sun King changed that. People (non- BA) are moving from BMC to cream ale and the like, so some breweries are producing what we (BA) would consider fairly pedantic. Therefore, your last statement is not entirely inaccurate. It depends upon who your customers are. Deviate makes beer for beer geeks. So does Central State for that matter. Upland and Sun King want the average beer drinker (though obviously Sour Reserve and Kings Reserve are meant for the beer geek). Things will sort themselves out, and hopefully brewers will add some niche beers or styles, or they will not continue to be around as competition intensifies.

So, I finally cracked Heaven's Court from the Devil's Trumpet tonight.

First thought: after about 6 oz I knew I was in trouble abv wise; a quick instagram search shows that this latest release comes in at 17%. Should NOT have drank alone!!

Second thought: pleasantly surprised!! Notes of dark roast coffee, chocolate syrup, cinnamon & banana. Melds well and is very drinkable, considering the harsh abv. My expectations were low, which helps, but I'd absolutely have another bottle; in fact, next time I'm at Pat's Liquors I'll see if they still have it in stock.

No, I didn't know if it would still be there & didn't want her to go out of her way for it.

=( So sorry. This is the first time they have done this, so it is hard to know for sure. If any of those 3 are still there, though, I bet it is the scotch....People don't seem to like those much.

I've already told Dave I'd help him out, but if you're interested in their stuff, I'm happy to try to take care of you after him the next time I can get some bottles.

Him indeed. He actually told me if I don't send him Deviate beer, he'll throw all sorts of beer at me until I do. What a jerk! Now I have to send him beer just so he won't send me any. Sad days.

Haha thanks for the laughs, I've been loving your beer for a long time, and nothing but good things to say about the folks I've met. Lotta family out thataway., too, and my first two trades were with kzoobrew and MasterSki.many moons ago. Cheers!

I went to Deviate on sunday afternoon. The Imp stout with blackberries, and the PB & C were already gone. There were many bottles of the Scottish strong left. Not sure how many they bottled as I forgot to ask, and they were pretty busy at the time, but if one looks at the twitter pics, it looks like the Berry Deep didn't last for 48 hours, neither the PB & C. PB & C did go on draft and it was obtainable via growler.

Been interested in trying a 450 North NE IPA but at $17.99 for a 16 oz - 4 pack of Citra Rainbows, they priced me out.

I'm also interested in hearing any thoughts re: the Imperial Frozen Assets. I'll be up in Indy this weekend and would love to get my hands on some if it's worthwhile. I think regular Frozen Assets is an excellent milk stout, especially at ~$8/4-pk.

They had BA imperial Frozen Assets I think on tap at some point...Or maybe I'm misremembering that I read a message on FB, twitter, or IG where someone was asking if they were going to BA it...

You moved to TN? Or am I crazy that you used to be local to Deviate?

Yeah, I moved to Nashville. I would consider myself to be one of the ultimate Deviate fanboys. One of the saddest parts of my move.
