Hey all. I'm going to be in Indiana for Thanksgiving visiting family. I've got the green light to go beer hunting on Black Friday. Where are good places to check out? Are there any good BCBS events? Liquor stores with really good selection? I'm starting in south central Indiana. I also definitely want to try out Deviate.

Vine & Table will be pouring lots of stouts and/or barrel aged beers 10-noon during the BCBS release and have some other limited stuff available for purchase. Sun King will be there with Emergency Malt Kit and a barrel aged offering as well. Kahn's usually has a big release and a couple Big Red locations are making an event of it.

Deviate will be closed on Black Friday.

Ok. Will they be open on Saturday? I could probably swing that.

I'm in the same boat as OP. Will be around Morocco so kind of out in the boonies. I'm hoping they have a store that'll sell BCBS, but I haven't checked yet.

My work computer will not let me post links. Big Red Liquors is having Black Friday at their Greenwood store. Go to their Facebook page and see the post on Nov 14th.

Deviate is open Noon - 8 on Wed. Saturday Noon - 10.

I was in Lake Village last year for Thanksgiving (20 minutes from Morocco). Head north up 65 about 40 minutes to Merillville and hit up Weiss Guys liquor. If you get there 20 minutes before opening, the line should be minimal. Last year they had a 3 bottle limit. I brought my wife with and was able to snag 2 each of regular, regal rye, and coffee. After that we drove around and hit up a bunch of smaller places. Managed to get close to a case in a couple of hours without much fuss.

Gotcha. About how early do I need to get to Big Red? I saw that they have a midnight-2am event. Is that really required to get an allotment?

I honestly can't tell you but I doubt it. I do know that people went there that early last year because they had Rare. Indy was also an official Bourbon County city so they got a huge allocation of bottles last year and I know that one of my friends was able to go thru the line twice. There will also be a Big Red event at Kahn's which is in the city.

This is probably a complete long shot, but any idea on BC in Goshen or near Elkhart? Let me know and thanks!

Any guidance for the Terre Haute area? I know that they won't be getting any BCBS, but any events worth checking out?

I can tell you, from experience, that Chalet gets it at many of their locations and if you're not on a list by now you won't get any.

Any BCS make it to Evansville? Or any interesting beer places to hit while in town? Will be in the area later this week. Thanks much.

I believe Tin Man is releasing their barrel aged Czar (which is their Russian Imperial Stout) on Black Friday. Not sure if it's any good, but I know the base is pretty decent.

Tried the BA Csar last night. REALLY enjoyed it. Huge chocolate and vanilla notes with just the right amount of barrel notes. Wish I had gotten more.

My brother and I just hit 2 stores Friday morning. At first one there was a 3 bottle limit and the other we could have had all we wanted. We weren't trying to blow our paychecks, so we're happy with our 10 bottles of regular and 1 of BW (no Coffee). We opened the BW first and loved it, the bottle of regular we shared was better in our minds. Now I'm struggling with whether or not I should continue to search more Regular out. Probably should do myself a favor and just move on.
