Indianapolis tastings?

I'd be interested in participating in something like this. Live on the north side but am fine meeting wherever. Have plenty of west coast goodies to contribute.

 

I'm also a south sider. I would be interested.

 

I'm interested as well. I have a few cans of Heady Topper left that I could contribute.

 

When I lived in DC these were held fairly regularly. Basically, this is what it takes:

1. Someone needs to step up and offer a space they have access to for this to happen. It could be your home, a park bldg in your neighborhood you are allowed to use, or what I most commonly experienced, someone would reserve the mixed use space in their apartment building for the tasting.
   • Alternatively, maybe there is a bar/restaurant somebody has a connection to that could offer a space to us for free as long as we order some food (this is something I've encountered before). I just moved to Indy so don't have any connections to pull something like this off.
2. The organizer sets a date/time, such as say, 2pm - 6pm on Sunday, September 13th. Or 6-10pm on a weeknight.
3. Create a googledoc spreadsheet that can be linked to this thread, where individuals can go in and offer what they will bring (usually 2 x 750mL or bomber or 3-4 12oz bottles per person). Further, can indicate if they are willing to throw in for ordering some pizza or contributing with some snacks. The spreadsheet allows interest to be formally gathered so the organizer can truly figure out if people will show sufficient to go through with the plan.

I'm 100% in to contribute some quality brews and to throw in for some pizza, and am generally free to participate in this type of function. That said, I don't have a space suitable for 10-30 ppl (the size of crowd I generally saw at these things), nor do I know anybody else on BA locally that I could work with to pull this together. Essentially, the first step is someone needs to offer a space they have access to and set a date and time...

Anybody out there willing to offer up or have access to a decent size space that could be utilized. I'm willing to take the reigns and run with overall planning, etc., just don't personally have a space suitable for this type of affair. PM me and we can coordinate from there.

However, this seems to be a secret group.

I think Mike is the guy that snuck in and bought the BVDL from that dude on Facebook while I was in the middle of working out the deal GRRRR.....LOL

 

I may or may not have bought a BVDL from a random dude on facebook.....haha. He responded right away and said it was mine....Sorry, he didn't mention anyone else.
