Indie Music LIF!

    Starting Monday August 27th, I'll be posting something music related every weekday for the next 4 weeks over at IndieLIF.wordpress.com. It could be a picture of an artist, album cover, etc... all you need to do is identify it and submit your answer through the form on the site. Please don't post the answer in this thread! Each correct answer will be worth a point and at the end of the 4 weeks, we'll see what the scores look like - there may be a tiebreaker if necessary, or I may even extend it for another week. We'll worry about that when we get there.

    The Prize: a box of barrel-aged awesomeness/OH goodies.

    Just be careful what you post in this thread! Obviously don't talk about the answer or post anything that might be considered a clue or a hint until the following day. Once I've posted the answer, talk it up!

    This is going to be fun. I have the week off and I'm spending it drinking some beer and re-ripping a bunch of CD's to lossless format. I respect the amount of effort that it takes to run a LIF of this magnitude.

    Day 2 is up. A lot of people had no problem with day 1! It was Elliott Smith, one of the best songwriters of the past 25 years ever.

    so far, this LIF has pretty much set my "at work" playlist the last two days, going through the catalogs of the answers of the questions.

    i hope i can continue to figure these out (and they keep being right up my alley, already being on my ipod :wink:)

    Question: I noticed there was no answer listed for Day1 (unless I missed it). Are you still taking answers for that one or can you only give an answer for the daily question up until the next question is posted?

    So if one guesses the correct artist, but doesn't know the song - could you earn a point by default if no one else gets it either? Heck, even a half point? Could be good for a tiebreaker :wink:

    Day 2: Pixies - Hey. And apparently it's too easy to cheat with the song clips, so that'll be the last one that I post =/

    I just learned there are apps for your phone, like Shazam for example, where you play the song, hold the phone up to the speaker, and it spits out the artist/song title after like 5 seconds. I was seriously bummed out because I was really looking forward to posting some songs :slight_frown:

    Bummer. I actually worked hard on that one; I knew it was the Pixies but couldn't get the song until after I listened to it.
