I will be in Indianapolis soon (by Wesleyan and DePauw Blvd) - any recommended retail bottle shops nearby? I will also be near Grand Park (E. 191st St.)

When I visited last year, I assumed anybody in Indy can purchase Zombie Dust whenever they want - but I was limited to a 6 pack and the employee indicated I was fortunate to have shown up on that day because it goes fast - is that about right?

    Thanks in advance!

On Zombie Dust, I actually have bought 6-packs more often at Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati than at places in Indianapolis. I stumbled across one once, but generally it is challenging to find one and they are often set aside for top customers or simply gone so fast you'd have to be chasing a pack to find one. Love ZD, but not enough to chase.

As to bottle shops, drive up Michigan to 106th, and you'll find a decent Crown in the strip mall by the Marsh. Better bottle shops are out there, but they'll likely require you crossing half the city to get there. The selection is decent at the Crown, and I've found a few nice items there.

You should hit Deviate Brewing, at 96th and Michigan. It has an interesting array of adjunct-oriented brews, with lots of experimental flavor combinations that are often surprisingly subtle and highly drinkable.

Kahn's Fine Wines, Parti Pak North, Payless #9, and Mr. G's are all good northside options.

Agreed. And if you make it over to Kahn's, head up to Broad Ripple and take in Brugge.

And furthermore, Ale Emporium is my favorite beer bar in the city. They have amazing wings as well as pan pizza.

If you really need ZD, my store typically gets some on Thursdays. The only problem is that it's located on the south side (Crown Liquors on Southport Rd). If you don't mind traveling down here, I can try to hold a 6pk for you.

Man that's super nice! I appreciate the offer, but please do not hold for me, I have to get a kid to two games at 2 different ballparks Thursday.

But thanks very much for the offer!

You don't have to pick it up Thursday, could come in either Friday or Saturday. If you came in on Friday between 6pm-8pm, I'll be sampling some good beers out too. But, it isn't much of a problem at all, just if you had time and whatnot.

Can anyone recommend any shops a little farther east in Greenfield next Thursday.

    Cheers.

I believe there's a Crown Liquors. Never been there, but I know the manager is solid dude.

I live in Greenfield - it's a wasteland. I usually make the trip to the Payless Liquors on 96th St or Kahn's on Keystone if I'm in a bind.
