I'll trade you infected PM. Nothing like trading infections!

oh wow, did dominique have something to do with matilda? dominique was a ridiculous beer... just tasted like really oaky, watered down bourbon--which is to say, delicious.

This is from a GI Rep in response to a different thread a week or 2 ago:
Actually...Dominique is infected Matilda. A batch of Matilda was infected with Lacto. The batch was recalled and then Bourbon Barrel Aged. Donnie Dirk's had a few bottles from the recalled batch last time I was there. Go try the pre barrel aged version there. The recalled batch will have a born on date from June 2010.

And here is a link with a bit of info:

    Hope this helps!!

Apparently not at Payless Liquors on the south side of Indy off Southport. In Lafayette, they're about 9.50, but yeah they are $11.49 or $11.99 down there.

I'm sure that helps. I can't read social media links at work, but that does confirm that it is the BA Matilda (lacto-infected batch), correct? I'll have to check that out when I get home.

Cool that they recalled it and then decided to put it in barrels. I wonder why they did that? Seems like an odd decision, but maybe it made it to some festivals and not the liquor stores in Kentucky that had it on tap (contrary to popular believe after the whole Rare is all over KY jokes, they do get good stuff down there and this is the only place I saw it). The beer was quite unique and surprisingly drinkable.

Touche... I'll probably put some in as extras in trades as someone suggested and just put them up FT and see what happens.

I'd trade you something like an Eclipse for 2 bottles plus a local or two to make it $4$.

Dumb question: Can someone explain was "infected" means and what it does to the beer?
    Thanks!
