I recently bought a bottle of the Saint Somewhere Merde de Singe, a collab with Redlight Redlight for Zwanze Day 2013. Zero reviews here and the only two are on that other site are from two guys I know personally. We were chatting about my recent trip to Cali and beers we had recently had. I mentioned this Saint Somewhere and they both said it was infected.
Has anyone else had this? I trust these guys palates very well, and am going to either return the bottle, or email Saintt Somewhere, or both.
    Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, all Saint Somewhere beers are "infected". Open air fermentation brings awesome local critters to the party. What kind of off flavors are your friends talking about? I haven't tried this beer yet.

I think Bob was pouring this at the Halfway There Rare Beer Festival in Tampa last month... I didn't taste any more or less infected than any of Bob's other beers.

I don't know if it's infected, it's just not good at all. Had it on Zwanze Day and our whole table of 10 couldn't get thru more than a sip or two.

All three people said it tasted of vinegar/nail polish/phenolic. Maybe it's not infected, but 3/3 bad reviews.

Well I wasn't there with you guys, so I can't tell. I have noticed that some sour beers taste like what you described if served too cold, Orval being a very good example of this as it tastes best at 58-60ยบ F.

I had the same reaction. I love their beer but this one was not good.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob at Zwanze Day. Whatever this beer tasted like, it's probably what he intended. He's just that kind of guy.
