Looks to be krausen falling, to me. I assume you're about 3-4 days into primary?

Day 4, I guess I have never witnessed it falling before

Yeah, you're fine. As far as I'm aware, there is nothing on this planet that could form a mass like that in your beer in 4 days...except a normal pitch of yeast.

That is unusual looking, but yeast are strange. Where did you get the conan?

Keep taking pictures, I'm curious as to how this progresses. It may morph into a more normal looking krausen after awhile.

Some batches since I switched to plate chiller have something similar but smaller looking, I figure it is cold break material as I never seen it when immersion chilling. Never affected the beer negatively that's for sure!

I had a blow off tube on it, which the krausen was crazy big. Then krausen went "away" and developed this.

Infections are usually a grayish white color. Go by taste, and don't be afraid to try it.[IMG]

This shot looks exactly as I have seen and the beers turned out great. Most of it dropped out within the 2 weeks in primary.

When I use WLP001 my yeast looks like this, and it swirls and tumbles like some alcoholic lava lamp.

On a side note, do have that in the bath tub? Are you able to start low and then increase the temp as recommended?
