Hi y'all, I have posted a few threads on trying to trade for a BA Blackbeerd and I must have the value or exclusiveness of it mistaken. I'd like to make a fair offer for both sides. Can anyone advise a little info on it like price and how it was released? I offered a Zhukhov one time and a BA Bigfoot another, both with the addition of CCB regs. I was under the impression it was a shelf beer in the Charleston area but I must be wrong. Thanks.
It wasn't a "shelf beer" but it was very easy to buy in quantity (up to a case) at Coast Brewing for a few weeks. I walked out with a case of it and have traded a bunch of them roughly $4$ (price was $15) for things like Abyss, FFF brewpub-only bombers, etc., so limited stuff but with high bottle counts/easy to acquire in the right area. I don't have any left to trade but I'm sure it's just a situation where the right person needs to see your ISO.
Something to keep in mind...we saw decent distribution of BA Bigfoot and regular shelf CCB (including MZ when it's released) can be purchased from Lueken's with relatively inexpensive shipping to SC. That said, BA Blackbeerd was easy to acquire if you lived in Charleston (and had access to visit the brewery). However, very little went out into distribution, so most people outside of Charleston were most likely only able to score a bottle or two. To be honest, I compare it to Huna from CCB (with regards to the ease of obtaining). If you attended the release and stuck around, people walked away with case(s)...similar to BA Blackbeerd (assuming you were willing to visit the brewery on the two weekends it was available). As for price, $15 via the brewery and $17-18 via the limited distro. All that said, going through your 'gots' (Moat Water!!!), I'm fairly certain I can get one of my last bottles out your way as well as KBS, BCBS, and/or others from your 'wants' list.
