Looking for some info on saint adarius. Would love to try some of their beers. Anyone know what bottles are shelf vs. brewery only,$, bottle size, counts? Thanks in advance!
Bottles are 750ml and brewery only with limits of either 1 or 2 to go. Most of the time it is 2 to go. Bottle counts could be misleading, because they allocate a % for in-house consumption, so it may seem like there should be more bottles out the door if you get the exact bottle count. I believe the last Bernice was around 80-90 cases, so about 1,000 bottles (someone can correct me if I am off on that). There are also the Cellar member releases (Westly, Stenciled Pages, etc) which are even more limited.
Searching for "Sante Adairius Rustic Ales" might be more helpful than "Saint Adarius" just to get you on the right path. All bottles are brewery only, 1pp or 2pp (max) as mentioned. They don't always have bottles because everything is hand bottled (last info I have, although it may have changed in the past year) in 750mL bottles. Release sizes vary from only a handful of cases to hundreds of bottles, depending. They have 3 foeders (again, last time I was there and to the best of my recollection) and cask200 as their large vessels for aging beers, so those have helped up production volumes in the past year. As best I know, one is for west ashley, one is for saison bernice, and the other I honestly don't remember what I was told... this was over 6 months ago shortly after they had acquired the foeders. Bottle cost was $17 apiece for Saison Bernice last time I bought bottles on-site (batch 4, ~July 2013). The problem with getting SARA bottles, as with those from many other popular breweries, is that Capitola is significantly out of the way for most people and they also don't have bottles all that often. Hopefully this provides some of the information you were seeking. Good luck -- the beers are tasty, but they can be a pain in the ass to get!
Excellent info everyone I appreciate it! Sounds like saint adairius is exactly like tired hands(who I'm a member of wink wink) on the east coast same price range too!
How often are bottles available? And, is there any chance bottles will be available in a week and a half (4/18)? I'm planning a drive to SARA during a trip to SF.
they dont announce any releases until they are actually on sale usually on a friday or saturday. the drive down there is well worth it. i suggest allowing for some extra time to drive down the coast on the 1.
this is true. I work about 25 miles away. Most of their good stuff sells out in one maybe two days off. They had bottles of Fruit Punch on a Friday recently(limit2) and they literally sold out right as I walked in after work at 640.
Yeah, that Fruit Punch sold out quick. Don't think they had a ton of bottles. . . . I think they filled a lot of Fruit Punch #1 kegs for SF Beer Week, which cut into the bottle count. Hoping for a bigger Fruit Punch #2 bottle count.
