Thanks in advance for your help on this. I somehow managed to stay away from trading for a few months now and in the meanwhile, a couple of Ohio IPAs made themselves on to the top 100 list: Columbus Bodhi DIPA and Fat Head Head Hunter IPA. Could someone give me more information on their availability (obviously I want them as fresh as possible) and what kind of bottles it would take for me to get to obtain some? Also, would it be possible for me obtain some of both in a single trade? Thanks again, Joe
I can only speak to Head Hunter, but it's typically readily available on most local grocery store shelves at this point, so probably a local bomber or sixer would do the trick.
Head Hunter should be pretty easy to land. It is a shelf beer, so you should be able to get it for other shelf beers. Bodhi, on the other hand, is not bottled. You would have to trade for a growler of that, and would need to find someone that had it on tap locally. Still shouldn't be too "hard" to get, but the amount of people who can get it for you is greatly reduced
As someone with a semiregular Ohio hookup, I'd suggest adding the regular Columbus IPA to your search as well. Best IPA from the state IMO. Delicious and, even better, readily available on shelves pretty much all the time, at least in the Columbus area.
I do like Columbus, but it is probably last for me when comparing them. My opinion is: Rajah > Bodhi > Head Hunter > Columbus IPA
Just a friendly suggestion from someone who doesn't have to worry about negotiating the details of his Ohio hop hookup. I like CIPA best of them all, but I can easily see any given BA preferring any of the 4.
Those have been hit and miss lately. Rajah usually doesn't last too long on the shelves, so if there is any it is probably fresh.
I agree with this. But I will say, the last two sixers of Columbus I had were up there with Rajah/Bohdi.
