My buddy & I will be going to see the Sammy Hagar VH tour at Kia Forum on Monday. Now I'm kinda familar with the area working at LAX. Its been a while since I last visited Three Weavers. Been to ESBC many times. But never been to Tortuga Brewing. Not planning to go to ESBC as its a bit of a drive to the Forum. So should I take a chance with Tortuga, or go straight to 3W? There's a couple of places along Century Blvd that has food and decent beers on tap we could hit up as well.

I'd skip Tortuga, never had anything worth remembering from there. A lil further away but I'd rather go to LA Ale Works given the choices for the area.

I can't see why you couldn't do Tortugo and Three Weavers since they're about a half-mile from each other. Maybe treat Three Weavers as the "main" brewery and get a half-pour or split a flight at Tortugo just as a way to check it out.

What about Common Space? About 4 miles from The Forum.

I also thought of Common Space.Their website shows that they have food trucks every day of the week. I’ve only been to there once, but what surprised me how similar the layout was to Green Cheek, this was also a couple of years ago, so maybe things have changed. The beer was good, I remember a pretty typical IPA and seltzer heavy tap list.

Common Space is worth visiting in that area, and they have food trucks along with a wide selection of beers. LA Aleworks is basically across the street and is also worth visiting. I've never been to Tortuga, only tried two of their beers at the Farmers Market on Venice in Mar Vista, but they weren't anything to write home about. Crown and Hops is in Inglewood, but they never built a tap-room so there's no way to visit them.

Just going to throw Far Field out there, but they’re a bit further out from the Forum than the other breweries mentioned, and I’ve never actually been to their brewery/taproom. However, I’ve had their beers multiple times and they’ve always been solid.

That’s a good call! Not far from the freeway and right on the way to the Forum. Their taproom is nice and clean, parking can be a little bit of a drag though…

I'd pick Tortugo over 3 weavers any day
Their Seymour Kolsch and Baltra Red are my go-to if the Santiago Stout isn't available.
From what I remember their Assistant Brewer used to brew for LA Ale works and their head brewer was part of an LA Home Brewing Coub.
Crowns and Hops makes nothing good even if they did have a brick and mortar.
What I've had from Common Space isn't memorable either.

Straight up I'd just go to Firestone Walker over everything mentioned , but if not go to Tortugo Brewing. Support the small guys if you can...it's just beer

If you want some really awesome , real as fuck, been there before the running out of locals food to eat in Inglewood , my hometown, go to Little Belize or any of the wonderful Ethiopian Places around.

the citycis a shell of it's former self but there's still gems around.

If you guys like ice cream ( i know, weird) hit up La Michoacana on Manchester and Eucalyptus. Amazing Mexican style nieves.

We ended up picking up Peruvian food to go and headed to Common Space. Nice brewery with what seemed like a local crowd there for a Monday late afternoon. Had their flight of 4 which included there GABF Gold winner Sonrista(Mex lager), Good Signs, First Dibs and Brightside IPA’s. Ended up getting a full pour of First Dibs to go with my meal. There was a food truck there. Didn’t bother. Was going to Uber to Tortugo from the forum lot but time was getting close to concert so I just downed a Raider Bob and enjoyed the show. CS is a decent enough spot for those who want a a beer in that area.
