After studying many previous threads, I have put together the following itinerary for a quick Vermont Beercation with a buddy this weekend.

I'd appreciate any suggestions about places to add or skip, travel logistics, etc.

I have a couple specific questions:

Any breakfast suggestions for Saturday morning? - our hotel is in Williston, and we are headed to Winooksi for 10:00 a.m.

The Fiddlehead cans of Double Fiddle and Hodad being released tomorrow (8/7) ..are any cans likely to be available late Friday afternoon?

Is there a great bottle shop near us that we should add to our list?

Offers to meet up for beers Saturday night are welcome! Anyone looking for local Mass. beers hit me up and I will try to oblige.

    FRIDAY

9:30 leave North Shore of Boston

12:00 Worthy Burger, South Royalton -- lunch

    3:00 HUNGER MOUNTAIN COOP, Montpelier
[For Heady Topper cases and Lawsons]

4:00 Three Penny Taproom, Montpelier [if we have time]

5:30 hotel check in … Courtyard Marriott, Williston

    6:30 Fiddlehead, Shelburne

If cans of Second Fiddle and Hodad Porter are still be available

Night — Waterbury Pub crawl — Prohibition Pig, Reservoir, and Blackback...

    SATURDAY

Breakfast where? We need suggestions for a good local breakfast spot

10:00 a.m. Beverage Warehouse a/k/a Winooskii Beverage, Winooski, VT

12:00 Mad Taco or Three Penny Taproom, Montpellier - lunch

2:30 Golf at Hanover Country Club, Hanover, NH

    7:30 drive home

Sneakers is my go to breakfast place in Winooski. It's on the rotary/traffic circle (death-ery as we like to call it, who the hell puts crosswalks in a rotary??). There is also the Athens Diner nearby that is good too.

I am a Boston driver. An insane rotary with cross-walks sounds like an amusement ride to me!

    Thanks for the restaurant tips.

Breakfast at Sneakers is a good suggestion, but Chef's Corner is really close to your hotel and has great food also:

I'd be surprised if no cans are available at either the brewery or Hunger Mountain (that's where I got mine).

When I went to Hunger Mountain, my wife and I got in line around 2:15 and were maybe 15th in line. She stayed in line while I cruised the beer already there and that's where I found Second Fiddle. Tons of other great offerings too. My suggestion is two times through the register: once to get whatever else you're getting, second to get Heady/Lawson's.

We got some pretty badass cheeses, too, but this isn't cheese advocate.

(Wait, is there a cheese advocate? Who's in?)

Speaking of cheese - there is Rogue Chocolate Stout Cheddar @ $2.99/lb. at our local discounter Cheese Traders on Williaton Rd. right now. Good stuff!

Fiddlehead's Second Fiddle DIPA is gone. All of the cans were sold today by around 2pm.

Don't think so. Last time, they just sold at brewery. They only distributed the first and second batches. This was the last Second Fiddle batch for the year. They'll be brewing Mastermind DIPA next for cans. They'll also brew Hodad one more time this year.

It's a minimum of 15bbl for the mobile cannery. I think they did a double batch last time. This time maybe a single batch of Second Fiddle and another single batch for Hodad.

As previously mentioned, don't get there at 3pm and expect to get any Heady. I arrived a couple of weeks ago at 2:30pm and the line was already quite long. The earlier you can get there, the better. BTW, once they start selling, the line moves pretty quickly.

RE: Lawsons, they have that earlier in the day. At 3pm they were sold out of Sunshine.

When was this? As far as I have know they do Heady and Lawson's at the same time. Last week they didn't get any Lawsons, so there obviously wasn't any to buy. But when I was there in June it was Heady and Lawsons at 3pm. I got there at 2:30 and was able to get both.

I think they release Sip of Sunshine earlier as they get a bunch of it in, but for the bottles that they get less of they still do it with the HT at 3. When I was up there a few weeks ago I missed Sip of Sunshine but got a bottle of Knockout Blonde to go along side my case of Heady.

Worthy Burger: Mind-blowing first stop on my VT Beercation. World's best burger. Best fries ever. Crazy good homemade pickles. And I got to wash it all down with an Edward pale ale by Hill Farmstead. So hard not to have another cold one, but I am trying to pace myself
