Picked up my first growler at a local tap room yesterday. It is 32oz stainless steel insulated and I don't remember the brand. I use Klean Kanteen insulated bottles all the time because they will keep ice and ice water all day long. Seemed like a no brainer at the time. The beer was cool at the tap, but about half way home I thought, "how am I going to chill this beer?" Theoretically the liquid inside is now going to be insulated from the cold in my fridge. Anyone experience problems with this?

I suppose if I kept it for a few days the liquid will start to chill, but nowhere near as quickly as a glass or single wall stainless container.

I have a double walled 32oz stainless steel growler. I always fill it with cold water before heading to fill it with beer, once I'm about to fill I either drink or throw away the water and then fill with beer.

Never had problems going with this steps.

    That's a great idea. Thanks!
