Heading to a tap takeover this weekend for Dieu du Ciel (specifically Peche Mortel and variants) and started wondering, what is your favorite international craft beer? Is it because it is something that is not readily available in your country or is it just better than what is available domestically?

Very hard to pick a specific beer or even brewery. But either way the reason is a mixture of the two - beers that are better (for their specific style) than those that are available domestically, but aren't available to me

I imagine a lot of Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen posts to come.

Celebrator was the first to pop into my head.

Péché Mortel is pretty darn good, too

I would have to ask first what constitutes "international"?

I would define it as any beer produced outside of your current country of residence. Good call on the Cantillon, surprised we haven't seen a bunch of those already...

My favorite international beers are the German beers. I look forward to the chance I get to visit some of the beer gardens.

Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock. TAP6 concentrate, and technically illegal to produce in the US? Yes please.

Most of my favorite imports are German bier, because there's not many domestic US takes on German styles that stand up to that quality level. I can get good Belgians made domestically (or by Unibroue, on the same continent) without having to go overseas for them. The same can't be said to the same degree for dunkels, weizenbocks, hefeweizens...at least there are some outstanding domestic bocks and doppelbocks, though!
