This is one of the few times I agree with a high price point. The amount of time and loss required to make gueuze is very high. Boon is very affordable, but they also make a lot of it compared to other producers.

Plus, they've been doing it for a long time and that is their business model. JK is still the new kid on the block and has more financial output to get their program up and running.

Going to be there the first weekend in December, if this price point means it is still hanging around then I am all for it. I will be coming off a weekend party for a wife's friend in that area having only drank wine for 2 days. Going to JK was going to be my "treat" for the weekend

It's not at that level, but having had each version at Shelton Brothers Festival last month, I can say it is very very good, especially the fruited variants.

The price is not that bad at all considering it took 4 years to produce, also important to keep in mind it is a luxury item to begin with.

I see this as an investment. I'll have it on tap and then those bottles are going away for a long long time.

Honestly, having the 3F and Cantillon Krieks, and cherry Spon all in the same day, and having had MvB and Cantillon Krieks previously, I've found the similarities to outweigh the differences, which is a compliment to all, especially JK, for such a young brewery.

Most definitely, I just feel like I wouldn't describe them that way. It's a set-up for a let down. Spon has it's own distinct character, as it should, especially being a lambic-style beer.

Jester King are going to have beer geek sleepaway cots on wheels, available for $10 per night/day this weekend, so you can sleep on-site and wake up in line each day.

It seems like a safe bet, but it's hard to judge. Besides Gin Nocturn and Atrial did any other beers sell out same day this year?

I think Fen Tao, and O&P was pretty close, but otherwise I don't think so.

I'm going to guess that with 2,400 bottles of the 750ml (limit 1), it rolls over into Saturday. I think some will roll over into Sunday too. We expect not to run out of draft this weekend.

I happen to be visiting from out of town. More than walking away with a bottle, I'm interested in tasting a variety of jester king beers including but not exclusively Methode Gueuze on draft. I was hoping to calmly enjoy a few nice beers and take in the lovely setting. Is this not the weekend for me? Will there be a long wait for bottle and draft pours?

If I go today, can anybody take a guess as to when the least crowded time will be? If I go at opening, will there a ton of people trying to get bottles? If I go late, will everyone have gotten their bottles and left? Or will there be a ton of people heading over after work and traffic dies down?

I'm trying to be respectful to the locals here. After reading info about the beer, I understand why this release is a monumental occasion for the die hard jester king fans and a milestone in reviving a brewing tradition. I don't want to come off as an out of towner trying to crash your party or vulture a special release

    Thanks

That's very kind of you, but the locals are savage and should be treated as such! lol, I'm just kidding, but honestly you should come however is most convenient for you.

My plan is to get there a little after open, grab some pours and chill while the herds wait in line... after an hour or so I think the line will let up and you should be able to grab bottles pretty easily, but this is just my thinking, could be wrong.

That is very respectful, but @GreatStoutman is right on both counts, on the method for usually getting bottles with no hassle and that local's don't give a shit about anything besides getting their bottles lol

Plus, remember everyone's usually nice when they're not on the internet.

@GreatStoutman and @smb, thanks. I think I will head over around opening. Hopefully I can easily grab some pours while everyone is lined up for bottles.
