Didn't see a thread yet. Discuss. Lots of one offs and such. http://www.washingtonbeerblog.com/inland-northwest-craft-beer-festival-list-of-breweries-and-beers/
I love that this festival promotes bringing one off beers and not just 2 year round staples. Looks like a good lineup again.
The problem for breweries is, the one-offs don't help sell the year-round beers. Us beer nerds will just go get the specials, and pass over the regulars. Was having this discussion at a fest I was working last weekend, and some of the more established breweries are starting to question the value in some of these fests. If people are going to just walk by your booth, with the thought "oh, I've had their beers before", why bother going? Especially if it's a "donation" fest, where the brewery isn't getting paid for the beer. I'm guilty of it; the only beers I tried at that fest (except for the breweries right next to me) were from breweries I'd never tried, or even heard of, before. But, if a brewery brings a one-off, that's one less keg to sell over the bar, or to an account. And, now folks have ticked it on Untappd, so if they see it in the wild, they're likely to order the other new ticks, because they've "had" that beer. For breweries, it can be a rock/hard place situation.
