Since the "Iowa Rumors" got locked, I thought we could start a new thread to post confirmed or rumored Iowa distribution news and updates.

I know it's been noted in other threads, but Crooked Stave has officially hit Iowa markets as of last week courtesy of Abu Nawas Beverage (who is killing it with bringing awesome beers to our state lately).

More distro news is that Big Wood Brewery out of White Bear Lake, MN is now in Iowa. Big Wood Morning Stout and Bark Bite IPA are confirmed currently available in Des Moines. Johnson Brothers is handing distribution, so all markets in their footprint should eventually see this I'd think.

My favorite brewery which is not distributed to me...so I am jealous of this. But, they are getting closer, fingers crossed. I assume the beers won't be easy to find though.

I'm thinking the 4 core beers in their lineup will be more common. No word on what/if we'll be seeing any of their beers outside of those as of yet.

Had a Hop Savant last night and man, was it worth it. Was a bit hesitant to buy more hoppy beer (a little hopped out from the summer) but this was very welcomed.

From what I know, it will be just the four core beers. That's all NY is seeing, and all of the other places that are now getting distro.

Yes. $7.99 and $9.99 per 12oz bottle. Haven't tried the Surette yet but Hop Savant was worth the $8 (though of course I'd prefer to pay a little less!). Local draft house posted their bottles on FB and can only imagine what they're selling those for!

Any news on Dogfish Head heading back to Iowa? IA Beer Baron had a post last year saying there was a chance by the end of 2013. Haven't heard anything since besides them entering Wisconsin and Indiana again.

My guess (really, my wish): distribution deal with TG for Central Iowa after they are fully up and running with their new brewhouse/bottling line and turning out bottles on a consistent basis. Hopefully in the next few months.

I certainly wouldn't complain if Odells was coming to Iowa...fresh Myrcenary all the time would rock.

Saw Big Wood at Johncy's last night so it should be in the Iowa City area.

Nah, CR hogged 'em all. ;) They also had the Imperial Smoked Porter from Deschutes....which I swear was 1/2 the price over in Illinois a few months ago. Got one for a buddy here in IA and he was not a big fan. I'm not a big smoked porter guy to begin with.

I think the only reason the Oakland Rd Hyvee got Black Butte XXV is because they had an event last night where a Deschutes rep was there. I doubt anywhere else in CR has any.

Very true, although Brian did mention they got "more" because of the rep being there. He didn't mention anything about it being early...although I have yet to see anything on Benz' FB page.

Guess I went out of my way to buy one in Minneapolis a couple months ago for no reason.

The Coffee Stout is really good, a little thin in body. I'd suggest picking it up. I'm excited to try the IPA - supposedly "too" bitter.

Per a tweet from TG, it sounds like Sosus could be getting bottled as early as next week if everything "goes as planned." With the arrival of their new brewhouse, it sounds like they will be ramping up production/bottling soon, which is great news for Midwest beer lovers!

Founders All Day IPA cans, Tallgrass Zombie Monkie Robust Porter and Deschutes Black Butte XXV have hit Des Moines: currently available at select metro HyVee locations (Ankeny#2 and Fluer to be exact).

Ankney HyVee#2 also currently has a very nice selection of Omnipollo, Mikkeller, Evil Twin and other imports not available anywhere else in DSM.

Hey guys, I'm going to Des Moines for the Modern Life is War show this weekend and am wondering where, if anywhere, I could pick up some Fantome and Prairie Artisan Ales bottles? Also, there's a place in town that has Topping Goliath on tap?
Do these places exist or am I just dreaming?

I know for a fact that the new Ankeny HyVee has plenty of Prairie 'Merica, Funky Galaxy and Puncheon bottles currently. Also, should hopefully be getting Sue bottles later this week too. TG Brews are currently on tap at El Bait Shop, University Library Cafe, The Keg Stand and maybe Zombie Burger too.
