Does anyone know of a Wine/Beer/Liquor store that carries Toppling Goliath beers, that will ship to other states?
false, John's does. They don't currently have an online shopping cart, but if they have TG in stock they should be able to help you out: http://www.johnsgrocery.com/index.php/beer/shipping
Looks like they do. Learn something new every day! http://shop.winestyles.com/ Although I'm guessing they probably don't sell their TG bottles online, as most go to their "good" customers. Might not hurt to call and ask though!
I've been running the shipping department for John's for about six years. I recently handed off the position, but we should have an online shopping cart going before the christmas season. I'm sure we will eventually have TG up at some point, but we can't even supply our in store demand at the moment.
1. That is a total lie, you have 4 cases of Golden Nugget and Dot's in the cooler as we speak. They are going nowhere. 2. Your owner flat out refused to sell your allotment of Pappy Van Winkle. 3. Your markup is well over what anyone else's is in the area. 4. The above answer is of little help to the OP. 5. OP people will go buy the beers for you and ship them if you have beers to send in return, there is something called the ISO:FT forum.
1. We do? That would be news to me. I will walk down to the store now and check, maybe we got a shipment in today after I left work but last I checked we were down to a few bottles of Dorothy's lager. 2. Our allotment from the state was 1 bottle total of pappy van winkle, 15 year. We also got in 1 bottle of 10 year rip van winkle. We are doing an auction for both at our open house in December to be fair to everyone. It's a pretty fun event, free samples from lots of breweries. The van winkle shortage is frustrating to us as well as we used to have everything from the winkle 10 to the pappy 23 on the shelf for many years. If we could do more we would, but as it stands the state controls who gets what via a lottery. 3. We are located downtown Iowa City, rent around here is also double what you'd expect in other areas. We run the same margins based on flux as anywhere else in the area. If we are high on a beer, it might be because we didn't take a large buy in order to carry something more unique from another. 4. Not really. We have TG beers on occasion, we have shipped them mail order before. I have received 20 emails in the last few hours and decided to post on here to hope to get the news out we currently don't have any available for shipping but we will soon have a web shop up and running. If we can satisfy the locals and get routine deliveries, expect to see it up on our site unless TG isn't cool with that.
Ok, here at johns now. We had a total of zero golden nuggets left. We had two total Dorothy's lager on the shelf, but that was because a customer had set aside a case last week. They haven't called back, so I put them on the shelf. If we still have some in the morning I'd be happy to ship some Dorothy's lager if op wants to give johns a call tomorrow. I took one home myself, it's a damn good beer.
So...Looks like I'll be doing some trading when the next batch of Mexican Cake gets released!!! Thanks everyone
