I agree that Naughty Temple was a better beer than Doom, not that Doom was bad by any means...but NT had more range/flavors going on in my book...For the $12.99 it was a good quality beer, but I thought regular Double Trouble was/is more enjoyable. Doom did have a moderate barrel note to it as it warmed, but again, I like more bourbon presence in my bba beers. (Typing this while drinking a good bottle of Peruvian Morning. Lucky all 4 of them have been that way! Unlike last year, and what people are experiencing this year)

On more Iowa stuff, Prairie Ales is hitting, that's cool. Iowa is reeling in some real good breweries as of late. I'm proud of my home state. Anyone who is from Iowa, that lives around Carroll should really hit up the Hy-vee Wine & Spirits, rivals anything you'll see in Ames/DSM metro.

If anyone is still looking for Doom in Des Moines, Windsor Heights HY-Vee has at least 8 bottles on the shelf.

 

Deschutes is coming in July and it sounds as if Oskar Blues may hit by the end of the year or early next year. Not sure if this has already been said as I am too lazy to read through everything here. Cheers!

 

If anyone wants any old beer check out the Wine and Spirits Emporium in Windsor Heights. They have Boulevard Smokestack White IPA and Stingo, for instance.

haha. no, or I would've bought it all. I went there specifically looking for some rare finds, as I'd heard that their turnover was really bad. As evidenced by a bizarre amount of leftover SN Celebration-2012, some 2012 Bigfoot ($14.99 a sixer), and numerous other random beers, including a number of foreign ones I can't say I'd seen before. Some of those were on the clearance shelf too. Oh, and they had Rogue Dead Guy Bombers for $12.99... great pricing obvi.

Supposedly Mahoneys has Doom in the cooler waiting to get tapped. They also had some bottles of 2011 Old Bluehair they brought out of the cellar for $20...thought that was reasonable. It was pretty awesome.
