Most likely we won't. Haven't heard anything but they most likely got in such a low amount they'll just take it to bars and events.

Any Fresh Squeezed in CB? They didn't surprise you with any Black Butte XXV did they?

Deschutes in Ames as well. Fresh Squeezed, Twilight, Mirror Pond, White IPA, and Black Butte. Hoping to see special releases when the time comes too.

Deschutes in Davenport with the mainstays plus Twilight. This will definitely cut down on my need to drive over to Illinois for beer runs!

What's the scene like these days in SC? That used to be my old stomping ground. You could get Foreign Export at Carry's in Verm and Bully Porter made it's way up to SC but, shit, that was about it.

Pretty decent at liquor stores, poor at bars.

Between Charlie's and HyVee, we get all the regular releases from Bell's, Founders, North Coast, and a few others. Also get most special releases from Boulevard. Some decent funky/esoteric beers from Jolly Pumpkin, Cambridge, Clown Shoes, Mikkeller, Evil Twin, etc. Unfortunately Stone turned down distribution here.

Bars consult the local distributors to choose what goes on tap which is laughable. I say that because they don't care about the draft beer market here. The local Founders distributor chose Dirty Bastard as the only keg they'll carry; probably because of the name. The "beer bars" end up with middle of the road stuff that rarely sells. One place has carried some Bells, St Bernardus, Evil Twin, GI, Blvd Smokestacks.

tl;dr Still a drinking town averse to change.

Man, that's kinda disheartening. It sounds like nothing has changed too much since I was there in '03-'06 (I went to school at USD). I got into the craft thing while there, getting variety packs of NB and Boulevard and, yes Leinie's. When places had Creamy Dark on tap people loved that. But, I don't think I ever had an IPA until I moved to Minny (Seriously). Can you find one of those around now? And, if so, does anyone appreciate it?

One place carries Bell's Two Hearted and Summit Saga on tap, so yeah. Those are the two best in town but a few other places carry either Lucky U or Goose Island IPA. Also had SN Torpedo and Rogue Yellow Snow but they weren't retained.

There's a small beer culture here but mostly made up of homebrewers or at home drinkers. Not many bar patrons in search of craft beer.

This market cannot sustain the amount of IPA's, and Pale Ales that have flooded it. It's not exclusive to Green Flash, I see several month old Founders IPA's, and Pale Ales on the shelves still.

The stores, and distributors that understand this best will come out the winners.

I cant wait to have Deschutes in my store, im really struggling to keep a great IPA in my case. I don't get Stone/Greenflash and my Founders supply is hit or miss. I finally got them to order All Day in....blew through 15 cases in 2 weeks.....now im told I may not see it again till early Sept....SIGH....Welcome Deschutes!! I must say that Johnson Bros seems to be a standup distributorship as well. My Two-Hearted usually hovers around that 2-3week old status which is great. Get mine on Wednesday!

My local has Deschutes as it's featured beer for July. Six dollar sixers of Black Butte, Obsidian, Chainbreaker, and Inversion! Hell and yes!

Deschutes year round lineup is touph to beat.

Black Butte XXV on tap at El Bait. Fresh Squeezed bottles all over Des Moines. Release parties all over town all weekend and for the next 3 days too. Deschutes has debuted nicely!

    Parlor City I'm assuming?

So is Fresh Squeezed in bottles or just on tap? If bottles did they hit the Cedar Rapids area?

Heading to Des Moines today or tomorrow, any chance of finding any Woot Stout? If so where?

Also I saw that Mondo's in Iowa City had Sofie Paradisi on tap. A beer that everybody needs to try IMO. I hope more kegs of it pop up around the area.

I picked up a bottle of Schell's Star of the North Berliner Weiss from Beer Crazy this weekend. Pretty special beer, now to use the dregs in a homebrew.

I know the Keg Stand in DSM has it on tap. I'd call first to make sure it's still on though.
