No bottles for a bit according to our rep too. Could be as late as the 1st depending on your location. Black Note is completely up in the air and when/if it does arrive it will be limited enough that I wouldn't bother searching it out.

Awesome! They said on Facebook that they had 5 kegs...tapped the first last night. I've only been there once but it was a great experience. Good luck, it's a great beer!

When we got to El Bait tonight, they said they were on the last keg...needless to say I had 2! And took home a Golden Nugget!

According to Templeton's Facebook page, we should be seeing the Madhouse Imperial Stout aged in Templeton barrels hitting soon.

I'm not a huge Madhouse fan, but I'll be on the lookout for this one.

The Madhouse Oak Aged Imperial Red is surprisingly good...and I'm not a fan of the brewery either. Based on that, I will certainly give the Templeton BA stout a try!

Don't know about Oskar Blues, but I did read the other day that the Lagunitas Brewery in Chicagoland is coming along nicely and will be completed around April and they will begin bottling in September. I would assume once they start shipping bottles from the new brewery that Iowa would have to get distribution state-wide? Therefore, I would presume Lagunitas will be there by the Fall? Fingers crossed.

Oskar Blues and Odell were the two rumors I heard. That was in the fall, haven't heard much lately.

Just added that beer to the Brrrfest program in Coralville this weekend:

"Templeton Rye Barrel Aged Imperial Stout- We used roasted barley, dark caramel, chocolate and black malt to give this beer all the characteristics of a rich and creamy imperial stout. We then aged this beer in freshly dumped Templeton Rye barrels, to add a bit of oak and whiskey complexity to the beer. "

I read somewhere that it was aged in the barrels for 3 months. Not knowing much (anything!) about barrel aging, this seems to be a pretty short time. Does anyone know how this compares to other BA beers in terms of time in barrel?

Marion Hy-Vee said Feb 6 now for Hopslam. Couldn't wait. Road tripped to East Dubuque today and got a case at Van's!

Wonder why it keeps getting pushed back? I'm assuming I shouldn't even get my hopes up for Black Note.

I'm not. I had it on tap at Red's, so it doesn't bother me much though.

If they are, I didn't see it coming. It seems as though they cannot really supply their own state. However, if they do, I cannot say I would be disappointed.
