I really don't see the awkward thing everyone is speaking of. Maybe its just my personality. Communication is usually the solution to this awkwardness. I always throw in extras and don't expect anything in return. If you're not sure, just talk to the person before hand. I've had trades where I've thrown in awesome extras and got nothing in return. I didn't care. The beer we agreed upon was there so I was happy. And it made me happy to think that maybe I made someone's day and maybe they will pass it on in the future.

 

I guess I was just reading into this thread too much. I bolded your last sentence, because that was the mindset I was going with...
