I find Odell IPA to be one of the best balanced of the bunch, even if it's not really one of my favorites.

inversion, red chair, and fresh squeezed by deschutes are all home runs imo.

Balance is one thing, malt forward is another. Malt forward is counter to IPA's in general, some are more aggressive than others, but still...

Columbus IPA? Well balanced but very tasty.

I also agree with White Rajah. Very, very enjoyable.

Just shipped a bunch of these out in a trade recently too. Was killing me that I hadn't had any of them. Looks like I am done looking past the Red Chair. Also grabbed the handle on the Founder's Rye multiple times over past 2 years.

Edit: had Sucks last week. Was good, but borderline for me. Drinking a 75 min now. Pretty good

Lagunitas Maximus always seems to be my answer, but it seems very apt here. You like Sumpin Sumpin, as well as Arrogant Bastard, and Maximus will be right in that neighborhood sort of like a beefed up Sumpin Sumpin.

Lots of other great suggestions, too- Head Hunter, Red Chair, Red's Rye, Nugget Nectar (next year)...

Give 3 Sheep's Really Cool Waterslides a shot if you can. Really decent IPA offering.

try out some english styles. fullers london pride or esb (yeah i know its own style but still sorta a pale ale). sam smiths singles are easy to find and make a couple pale ales. they wont have the citrusy dank hop forward flavor that the american versions have. i think you will really enjoy these. Cheers.

Both have already been mentioned, but I'd recommend Red's Rye or Two Hearted. The Red's Rye doesn't taste like a typical IPA at all; it's much more malty than hoppy. I also think Maine Lunch and Maine Mo are both very balanced.

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed is a solid recommendation for the OP. I personally don't like it at all -- mostly because I find it too sweet without enough hop presence. But, I think it suits the challenge well. It's a pretty unique tasting beer though, so if you end up liking it there isn't a lot of similar brews to recommend.

The name sounds more intense than it is, but I think Victory Hop Devil might be up your alley as well. It's pretty balanced.

Also, you might consider trying some DIPAs instead. They have a lot more malt going on.

DFH Minute series has a strong malt presence. Hop Devil is fairly malty by IPA standards. They are easy to get.

From my neck of the woods, try these:
    Heady Topper
    Double Sunshine
    Susan

For west coast style, try Ale Smith IPA, Sucks, and Double Jack.

A few I've tried recently that you most likely wouldn't drain pour. Not a fan of the Weyerbacher myself but the rest I thoroughly enjoyed. The Surly uses Scottish malts which you may find tasty.

    Surly Furious
    Kern River Just Outstanding
    Weyerbacher Double Simcoe
    Maine Lunch
