For all of you IPA homebrewing fans, a new book is coming out that covers the history of IPA. It is

IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale by Mitch Steele, head brewer of Stone Brewing. Some of the material was presented at the NHC. An article in the last Zymurgy was written by Mitch Steele covering IPAs.

The book will have over 40 IPA recipes, historic to modern. Ron Pattinson was also consulted on this one, I think. The AHA member presale has started. I bought my copy.

Bought mine as well. Mitch is super knowledgeable and a great guy (Based on some taster feedback he gave me on my own brews), really looking forward to reading this one cover to cover.

I saw Thais on the AHA FB page. I just got Designing Great Beers so I will wait to get this one but it will happen.

“Ron Pattinson was also consulted on this one, I think.” I sure hope so or else we will be reading the ‘errata sheet’ very shortly!

    Cheers!

Got mine today, too! I remember Greg talking a little about this at NHC 2011 and have been looking forward to it ever since.

If this book is anything like stone's book about themselves, it should be great. I plan to order it asap.

Mitch contacted both me and Martyn about the book. I was happy to give him any help that I could. It should be an excellent book.

Hope that lots of people get it.There's more drivel written about IPA than about anything else in beerdom (with the possible exception of Scottish beer) and a good resource is welcomed to set the record straight.
