It's almost getting to the point where whenever I see red, I get a hankering for some Two Hearted.

Hrms. No clue. I still have some Hoptimum laying around so probably that. If I can get some more Crystal or Galaxy Hero or even a Double Fist I may drink that. I love Revolution's IPAs.

My feelings towards this holiday and 4/20 are roughly the same; I drink IPA every day, therefore it's always a celebration.

Ugh my favorite holiday:slight_smile:, but I will have to celebrate it on Aug. 7 this year, the first day I can drink beer again.

Here's hoping you get well soon.

I suppose as long as one buys the beer on IPA day they are at least participating in the spirit of the event  . I'll probably just get a growler of the best IPA available that day, but then drink it on the next day (Friday). Can't do that on a work night...

I picked a hell of day to quit drinking.

Seriously. I have a race on August 10th and decided to go dry for the month of August leading up to the race.

IPA Day sounds like another one of those Hallmark Holidays anyways. State workers don't get it off, do they?

Why do people force themselves to not drink beer for weeks and months at a time? Doesn't make any sense to me. It's not like a single beer is unhealthy.

Pretty much for the same reason I'm doing this race... to prove to myself that I can.

Because all calories are not created equal, because the palate gets bored, because yeast has undesireable effects on the intestines over time and because some people want to pass a cholesterol/triglicerides test in a months time.

    =)

If you go on long distance hiking trips like I do where you're carrying a 35ish pound pack on your back for 200 miles knocking down as much belly fat as you can before that hike begins is very important.

My next hike begins Aug 11th and I am planning on no beer the last 10 days. When I do a biggest loser contest I only drink a beer for every 5 pounds dropped. When you're training for an endurance event you need to get into a good habit and stay there.

Going to see "Sunshine Daydream" on the big screen in celebration of Jerry. Now that I know that IPA has it's own day, I'll probably drink one of my precious Heady Toppers before the movie.

I don't see IPA day as a "holiday." In my perspective, that term is only reserved for days like Xmas, Thanksgiving, and the like.

IPA is more like an "appreciation-day." The lesser sibling of "holiday." I don't see any issues with people taking this seriously or not.

Good thing August 1st didn't fall on a Monday (this year at least).
