Anyone been down there yet? What's the crowd situation like? It would be awesome if someone could post a pic of the list, or report any noteworthy offerings. Cheers

Citra is/was on, along with plenty of other great stuff.

You can get a good feel of what's being poured at a place by using Untappd. You need to create an account, which is relatively easy to do.

Businesses > search "Toronado" > select "Venues" > click on the SD Toronado

One of my friends went and got an Alpine O'Brien's IPA but the beer they gave her was a huge malt bomb. So she wasn't sure if they gave her the wrong beer or if it's just a bad batch of O'Brien's. Did anyone else have it and have the same experience?

i wouldnt say it was a malt bomb but obriens ipa is certainly the maltiest alpine offering

She said the one she had was very malty which is why she questioned it. And I don't recall O'Brien's being malty at all in the past. If I recall correctly, more west coast hopforward with lots of pine (closer to a Green Flash IPA than an Alpine). I'd say that Alpine Ale, Exponential and Pure Hoppiness are all more malty than O'Brien's too.

I had Obrien's IPA last night....wasn't any maltier than previous batches (that I could tell). West Coast IPA is an accurate comparison IMO

Yup, I do this all the time. Also helps that a lot of my friends push their more “interesting” check-ins to Twitter.
