Anyone know of any local breweries selling good ipa kegs to the public?

I am a member of the Half Acre Keg Club, but nothing is really catching my eye there at the moment.

Could be NEIPA, West Coast, DIPA, APA...just looking for something new. Price is not much of a concern, just looking for something tasty and not Bells, Founders, Ballast Point, etc.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Pipeworks has made kegs available from time to time, but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen them advertise that. Doesn’t hurt to ask though.

Not sure what size keg you’re looking for but I highly recommend une annee for kegs. They do 30L (approx 8 gallons) one way kegs and have been offering the Hubbard’s cave ipas more frequently lately. Price was under $200 I think

I’ve heard of people getting son of juice kegs as well for home

I’d forgotten this! Just checked their list and saw Straight Jacket at $200 - a steal in my opinion!

I believe that you can get kegs at Begyle as well.

These places don’t sell direct but are making probably the best IPAs in Chicago:

You can get Pipeworks from Beer Temple but it’s pricey. $210 for a sixth barrel of Ninja V Unicorn. Marz doesn’t sell direct but they will sell them to any liquor store - just email or call. They are even more expensive - $350 for quarter barrel. Noon Whistle doesn’t sell direct but can be ordered via liquor stores.

    Also,

I assume you’re sick of Lagunitas. Worth noting that in addition to their core beers, you can request a special batch and if/when it’s put into their weekly brewing rotation, they’ll reserve it for you. They do mostly quarter barrels. By far the most cost effective.

Begyle also has a keg of the month club, if you like their beers.

Revs northeast hero for $95 a 1/6 barrel is a steal imo

Thanks for the heads up. I briefly scanned the keg list and thought it was North*west* Hero. I’ll have to try it.

I'm Dave with Riverlands brewing out in St. Charles. We have only been open about 6 weeks but are starting to figure where we are at with our beer production. We just started distributing in the last week or so and have been open to selling direct to consumers. We do mostly NEIPAs, so if that is your taste definitely reach out!
