cited by jesskidden: "Pale lager is a golden-colored liquid with alcohol content of 5.8% or more.
(On "stouts/porters") They are usually heavy bodied beers, due in part to unique ingredients like oatmeal, coffee, chocolate and milk"
I see nothing wrong with these descriptions. You aren't suggesting there is no milk in my milk stout are you?

There's your brewery's flagship stout, cavedave:

    Breakfast of Champions Stout
Brewed with Oatmeal, Coffee and Chocolate Milk!
(Maybe throw some whole wheat toast in there, too! And some citrus-y hops, to take the place of OJ).

Not charge for the idea - I'll just go for a small royalty deal, oh --- and free beer for life. (But not that one!)

Nice! Good thing my partners don't let me make the big decisions. That said, you are in for free beer for life anyway:slight_smile:

IPAs, especially the new lower IBU/ABV American variety are approachable and sessionable. They seem to be most hated by Anglophiles, Craft afficionados who think they're way too sophisticated to like them, and "noble hop/style" reactionaries.

There are a lot of great styles out there...but currently, the American IPA has saved them all from the scrapheap of history, IMHO.

IPA's are an acquired taste, the first IPA you try you think "what is this shit?" But the longer you drink them the more you appreciate the flavor and sooner or later it's all you want to drink. (It's the sexy hoppy fruity bitterness if you ask me)

Within the last year. Leinenkugals. Then stouts, since I like the aroma of coffee, but don't drink coffee. Then magically, I have a hanker in' for IPA's and nowDIPA's. What gives? Is it BA? Or fate.

Anybody remember the industry in 2005 when IPA's blew our minds?

It's true to say that IPA is immensely popular with people who like it a lot.But this site is grossly misrepresentative of beer drinkers as a whole in the US and most beer drinkers don't live in the US anyway. So it isn't as popular as it appears to us.

American IPA has saved Dark Mild? All I can say is thank you, IPA.

Agree. In many pubs in Ireland 6 taps would be Guiness, one Heineken (or Budvar), and one Balmer's cider. That's where I began to develop a taste for cider.

I've been drinking for over 50 years now and there never has been a time when I couldn't find an IPA.
