I get to brew today. I'm still working out a hop schedule, but I've got this available:

    simcoe 3oz @ 12.2
    amarillo pellet 3.5oz @ 9.3
    amarillo leaf 1.0oz @ 10.4
    summit .25oz @ 17.6
    nugget .75oz @ 13.5
    cascade 1.25oz@ 13.5
    hallertau .25oz @ 3.3

I'm thinking a blend of summit and nugget as FWH to get the bitterness up.

Do cascade and simcoe play nicely, or should I just flavor and aroma with cascade and amarillo?

I'd do all simcoe and amarillo for the late additions. They're my favorites.

Cascade and Amarillo play nicely together. I've never used Simcoe so couldn't comment there. How many gallons is this? If it's 5 then I think your on track with using all of the Nugget and Summit for bittering. That should put you in the 50's for IBU's.

I've been really bad about posting important information lately. It'll be a 5 gal batch.

Another piece of useful information would be the style.

Edit: My bad. I see it in the subject line. I'll second the cascade/amarillo combo.

The tiny amount of Summit would be better incorporated through bittering along with the other high alpha Nugget hops. Hallertau is out of place for an American IPA and besides you only have .25 oz of it.

I'd use Simcoe and Amarillo at flameout and in the dryhop. Use Cascade at 15 and 5 or 20 and 10. Good Luck! The only thing you should have leftover besides Hallertau is a small amount of Amarillo.

I'm about to brew a hoppy red with a similar selection of hops, except I have one ounce of magnum which I was going to use for bittering. Cascade worked great for my last IPA and this time I'm using cascade late and cascade/amarillo for dry hopping (I have one ounce of amarillo).

And yeah, my cascade is about 6%, not 13%.
