    This a very good question!

I'd have to say is was a DFH of some sort. They were my go-to when I first started. My first few trips to the store, where I bought mixed 6pks, I remember always picking up Two Hearted and Sculpin. Hopslam is in there too.

Hopslam as a style guideline followed by judging a local homebrew club IPA contest. Really paying attention to the aroma's and flavors of fresh ass IPA really put me onto them. Prior I was all about Big Stouts and Strong Belgians.

Like @CSpoons, it was Racer 5 and his brother Ruination that got me into IPAs.

Interesting...my first was also Torpedo, and I thought it had gone bad. I can't quite remember what the first I really, thoroughly enjoyed was, but I eased myself into them and now a good one is one of the best things on earth.

Torpedo was my first ever Hoppy Beer. Did not enjoy it at all, actually drained poured most of the 6 pack (was a gift). Thee beer that did it for me was Double Jack. Been mostly into Double and Triple IPA's since then.

I liked IPAs right away. Belgian styles took me a little while to appreciate.

Got to love all the Options of Beer Styles available to us today. Find one that agrees with our palate, and let it ride.

Yeah I drain poured a bunch of IPA's early one because I couldnt handle them. Dont remember the one that got me over the hump though. It was a pretty slow and gradual process so I dont think it was just one.

I'm still in infant stage. Hopslam got me going! Still not in love with IPA's yet. I actually don't like PsuedoSue but love King Sue???? Are IIPA's just more enjoyable on the whole? I do like Stouts and some Belgians.

I thought hops were the enemy until that fateful day I picked up a sixer of Torpedo just to give it a shot. Good old Torpedo got me over the hump for sure.

I would say Stone IPA...it may have been 60 Minute though, but both are pretty similar and perfect examples of the style.
