Epic Hop Zombie from New Zealand is at this point in time the best DIPA I have tried.

Little Creatures IPA kept me sane during a 5 week sentence in London. They could learn something from the Aussies.

Make sure at some point to go Belgian and try some of their strong pale ales and IPAs - Duvel and Piraat for example...

Omnipollo makes some really nice IPA/DIPA if you can find it fresh.

Not all, I have had a couple traditional ones in London.
The Long Arm Brewing Co IPA-OK was traditional, 5.5%, dry, loaded with Kent Goldings hops.
Fullers Bengal Lancer is also in the traditional style. Do they even make an American style IPA?

Edit - I have brewed some of the historic recipes that Ron Pattinson has published, so I do know what those taste like.

Of course at one time Edinburgh was the world's second biggest brewer of IPA

But the historic IPAs would have been attenuated to dryness, then exposed to Brett and aged.

That's true. And I didn't list any English IPAs there because that's one huge day long task.

True. The ones I have made taste best after about 6-9 months (then they disappear quickly). Sometime I need to grab some of the White Labs Brett C. And give that a try.

Also, Driftwood Fat Tug (although @LampertLand already called it)
Not sure how available these will be in New York OP.

Thanks for all the feedback! I am going to seek out some of these suggestions at Oliver's in Albany, NY in another two weeks. I m intrigued by some of the English IPA's, as well as Omnipollo. Also, the New Zealand suggestion. I think I've seen Red Racer. Hope to give it a try. I can only wish that Unibroue had a DIPA! :slight_frown:
