Has anyone come across or used a clone for either of the following beers?

    1. Hornswoggled - Cigar City
    2. Prouty's - Jackie O's
    3. Strong Patrick - Beau's All Natural
    4. Brian Boru - Three Floyd's
    5. Jameson's - Pizza Port

If so it would be awesome of you to share. Thanks!

Biran Boru has been brought up a few times. No one seems to take a stab at it. The FFF website has a little info on it.

And there's usually only one or two people who will respond to these red threads. I've tried twice and will consider this one a strike out. People generally aren't enthusiastic about clone threads, but especially red ales. I couldn't tell you why.

Hmmm, well that's too bad. Was hoping to get a little help. Haven't had any luck searching. Thanks for the heads up.

It's impossible to brew a bad red ale. If you have certain qualities that you like or are looking for you're better off with a recipe critique thread than using that four letter word "clone."

Cool. I made a great Imperial Red with a friend a while back but he's being stingy with the recipe (was supposed to be both ours, but I failed to write it down and he has dreams of opening up a brewery) so I figured I'd start off with a red that gets good reviews and then tweak to my liking from there.

Here is HB42's Red recipe. I'm drinking one now I brewed with some little variations for grain that I had on hand. Used Canadian Pale instead of the Maris but worked fine. This is a nice recipe. The Irish ale yeast makes it very drinkable. Make a starter.

    Irish red ale
9 lbs Maris otter or 6 lbs Extra light DME
    1 lb Crystal malt 40L
    1 oz Roasted barley
1 oz Northern brewer (60 min)
    1 oz Goldings (10 min)
    Irish ale yeast
