I have yet to go to the brewery in Temecula but everything I have tried from this place or had on tap is simply wonderful. They have only been around for a year or so and are producing some great beers in my opinion. Wanted to see what other thoughts were here on Iron Fire (ya, no I do not read BA reviews on beers). I love the 51/50 and Dead on Arrival so far as well as the stout they bottle as well.

I thought 5150 was great, a poor mans version of alpine nelson ipa. Of course I'm biased and nelson is my favorite beer, had plenty of it on tap at hoffers cigar lounge la Mesa. 5150 has a nice spicy bitterness to complement with the delicate white grape notes of nelson hops. I usually don't try anything on tap from a new brewery because most of the time ( 9x of 10) I will be disappointed but have to admit 5150 a well crafted beer

Ya I hear ya. Drinking a 51/50 right now. It is a wonderful beer.

51/50 is a tasty beer. If it wasn't so readily available it'd probably be held in a higher esteem.

I'm not as high on 51/50 as other people here seem. Is it decent? Sure? But I'd not compare it to anything Alpine.

no not on Alpines level, a poor mans nelson, i believe 5150 is brewed with rye and nelson hops.

I would not compare it to Nelson. I will say though it is a great IPA that is brewed by a brewery that not many people know about and it is tasty as well. Dead on Arrival is their DIPA and it is fantastic.

They're ok. I've tried 51/50, Dead on Arrival, and Synner. All are decent but forgettable.

Average beer, small drinking area in the facility, and rude employees. Been twice, won't go back again.

    Cheers!

51/50 and Dead On Arrival are not great, but certainly not bad.

This. However, it ain't the cheapest beer in the cooler.

I plan on hitting up the tasting room today or tomorrow. How are the employees rude?

I felt like I was bothering them asking for beers and trying to talk with about them. Just felt condescending to me and for the quality of beer, just wasn't feeling it. Could be me though.......

I remember hearing Iron Fire was started by an ex-Ballast Point Employee and that 51/50 was his rendition of Sculpin.

Funny you say that, because I had a can of Sculpin right after drinking a 51/50 glass last night, and I thought they seemed similar.

Sculpin and 51/50 are very different in my opinion. 51/50 is very smooth and crisp. Sculpin is much different.

Had an all right experience at the tasting room last month, possibly because I was the only one there.

51/50 is not bad, although no Sculpin, and I thought DOA was kind of a mess. Would like to see them succeed, although since there's so much great beer close by they'll have to step up their game.

I visited recently and had a good time. Nobody was rude to me or anything like that.

I'm a big ol' Ballast Point fan, and I'm actually digging the heck outta the 22 of 5150 that's sitting in front of me right this second.
