This beer has always been solid. I think its ridiculously underrated. Moving to 16oz cans made it even better. Its everything an APA should be then its hoppy enough to interest IPA lovers!
It has had 8 ratings, most in the 2's and 3's since it was added to BA in 2010. I'd say you are in the minority on that.
When I'm in the valley and want a good local beer, it's either Iron Mike or a Tucks. Neither are knock your socks off, but both are solid. If Stoneface starts making its way up more regularly, them all bets are off.
Looks like you clicked on the beer from Leinenkugel, and not Moat Mountain. Moat's Iron Mike has 200+ reviews. I'm with the OP. Love everything Moat brews. They brew criminally underrated lagers as well.
They had a tasting at Wayne's in N Woodstock this weekend. Super solid lineup. Rep forced me to try the blueberry beer and honestly it was good. Hell Yes is so good and first time having Czech Pils, another solid beer. Did not have time to try the new red ale, but not my style so not that broken up about it. They started can dating! Got Mikes dated 03/02/15. I swear it boarders on IPA territory.
yeah. i think moat is solid. after a day in the mountains, there's nothing like an evening at their bar. great staff as well.
